Solar System

By Vlad
August 5th, 2007

Space is one of the topics I find very inspiring to illustrate. Here is my vision of solar system. All proportions are very approximate! :-)

Very approximate indeed! I think its something like 600 jupiters would fit in the sun, if it were to scale.

Still, very nice. :)

Beautiful!!
one question: if u included pluto, why not the other 2 dwarf planets?

Yes, I would love to see a version of this wallpaper with Ceres and Eris as well, although I suspect the reason why they weren't included is because not everyone made have heard the recent changes to what actually constitues a planet (not saying the author didn't).

It will be a long time before the fact that Ceres, Eris, and Pluto are considered dwarf planets and not full-blown planets enters common knowledge/language and that two more planets have been added to the Solar System.

Great looking 'paper. As cleverly rendered as it was thought out.

kinatas, the symbols next to the planet names are their planetary symbols. For example, next to mars is the Greek symbol for Mars, the god of war.

The Uranus and Pluto ones are off, but the others are the standard astronomical symbols.
