Wow, this is a really good picture. There's an impressive amount of stars that showed even at sun set. And there's a nice gradient of colors with that really wide shot. Although I don't really like the houses at the bottom (but that could just be me). I like it though.

I don't mean to be rude, but this isnt that good of a picture. The admins need to start being more selective; some of this recent stuff hasnt been so good.
Pointers:
1. What started out as a good picture was ruined by the blurring on the bottom and the bleeding of colors between foreground and background—get a better noise reduction program and use way less.
2.Posterization. Your 2560x1600 picture is 1.5 mb, when you save, make sure you use all 2mb available for as little compression as you can.
3. DSC-P10. Considering your EXIF info is still there, you probably didn't do any post-processing so that image is really bad if that is straight from camera.
4. See if you can get an angle that doesn't have houses/buildings in it. Nature is best when it is only nature. I know you are in an "urban" environment though.
5. Compliment-I like the framing and it would be a good shot if you weren't so limited by your camera. Keep at it.

I agree with the post above me. The older wallpapers on this site are much better and lately I've had to backtrack deep into the earlier pages to select one I had already seen but simply needed a new wallpaper. There really is a large selection so if you haven't been through them you should check it out. Although I assume most of the people commenting have done this.

Please keep in mind when commenting that all have their own opinions.. Particularly #1 and #4 of comment 8 are strictly a matter of opinion, and it's slightly offensive to those who may like that form of art.
That said, I believe this is a beautiful shot. The gradient of blue are complimented by the beautiful colors at the bottom of the image. Thanks for this shot!

I have never in all my life seen stars come in that dense prior to the sun completely setting. Because of that this is annoyingly fake to me. I don't mind that things are often photoshopped so long as it's done tastefully, but this is exceedingly obvious, but tries to pass it off as something natural. If I'm wrong someone please yell at me, but this photo bugs me.

yes, the stars are fake and other aspects of the image have been photoshopped... im still not sure why the EXIF info is still there though. i rarely ever use photoshop and this particular image is not without its own indications of this. i recall the stars in the image that i submitted being significantly less conspicuous than the ones that appear in the image on this site, however i have no way of uploading it. i too prefer the the version of this image with stars that dont stand out as much.

The stars are obviously faked, as a few appear in the lower corners as well. It wouldn't detract from the image if they had been toned down to about 30% or40% of where they are now. On a personal note, I'm not a big fan of the paint brush effect that shows on the houses, but that's just my opinion. It's a promising image, though. With a little more work it could be really cool.
