MD Red Barn HDR

December 11th, 2007

This is not an HDR file, but its a burned export to JPG. An old red barn smack in the middle of suburban Maryland. I used Photomatix Pro for the HDR processing.

The real question is, why did INTERFACElift pick a barn photo?

It is located in Gaithersburg, MD. Its part of the MD Agricultural Center. There is also a great herb garden, a season flower garden, and a supposedly haunted house...

This photo would be nicer if it wasn't so dark. Can't see all the nice colors.
McLovin, you got to lighten up a little bit man. I know some lousy photos get posted on this site sometimes, but not every picture is going to directly relate to you.

That's awesome man, I pass that barn all the time. What a coincedence.

Seriously McLovin, lighten up. Learn to appreciate different styles of photos.

I am a professional photographer when I see a good picture I comment it with delight. This is crap sorry to be too blunt but face it.

Somebody isn't full of himself, is he? Quite an original name I must say...

Anyway, photography is like any other art form. Some like it, some don't. I'm glad some like it. As for others, oh well...

McLovin, if you are just going to be rude to people that don't even bother commenting.

This is an amazing, simple and high quality wallpaper than I am currently using on my 30 inch Cinema Display.

"This is crap".. oh really? And who are you again?..

It's not the photographer's fault that his/her photo was accepted to the site. Keep your mean comments to yourself.

are you efin serious do you guys like not want to hear the truth from everyone only the good but what about the bad? I think you the ones who comment everything comes within the heart not to be fake every minute of your life. I think I have my opinion on what I like an if I don't like it I will still let them know, don't get offensive over something petty.

Lol, could you possibly punctuate the sentence, McLovin? More to the point, its just fine if you dislike it, as I stated. Try using a tad bit more tact. Constructive criticism is usually preferable and better accepted. "This is crap," isn't exactly a good tone setter, if you know what I mean. "The coloring is too washed out," "The shadows are too strong," etc. is a much nicer way of saying you don't like it, without sounding like a jerk. Thats just my take, mind.

Jw - I saw the Frostburg address, did/do you go to school up there? I've got a friend going there now.

Teeklee you took the words right out of my mouth. Giving constructive criticism is great, most really appreciate it, but when you leave a comment like "The real question is, why did INTERFACElift pick a barn photo?" It's not taken well because your just putting down his work without any reason. I personally was happy to see a barn photo, I actually just bought a barns of new england calender for next year :-) Oh and I highly doubt you are a proffesional photographer McLovin, just reading your last post gives me the impression of a big headed 12 year old.

I doubt his professional status as well. Take a look at his deviantart photos... That should say it all. Lets here the defense of those horrendous pictures (and vector images).

I like the shot but it's not something i would set as my background. I dont comment on many pictures but i just wanted to say i like your other pictures and I hope u continue to post them here. McLovin is a d-bag.

Not something I'd use for wallpaper, but I like it. Nice looking barn!

McLovin, I really like a few of your photos like Sunset Star and Sunset Beach 06. But I gotta be honest. The vector art looks like black and blue bruises. And City Lights 2006 isn't exactly spectacular. I accidentally take those kind of photos with my camera all the time.

Sorry McLovin. I guess I'm kinda the one who started this. I didn't think everybody was going to jump in with what I said. I think your entitled to your opinion like everyone else. I'm personally not a fan I this picture myself. What you posted first sounded like "I Don't like Barns." Which doesn't say anything about whats wrong with the photo, beside the fact that it's a barn. At least explain whats wrong with it. Sorry again...

McLovin, your statement about your profession as a photographer must mean professional photographers (excluding those who work at kwikpix in the local mall) must be neither mature nor grammatically inclined. You write at the level of a 7th grader, and you demean yourself by posting comments that are not constructive; they are simply harsh and judgmental. If you think there is no inherent value to the photo, suggest why and, as a professional, offer some constructive ideas.

To tjmcintre0 your a ruthless pile of crap degrading professionalism. You have no saying in this.

Actually McLovin, tjmcintyre0 is right. You are immature and have less grammatical and writing skill than a middle-schooler. If you are to post comments here, or anywhere on the internet for that matter, make them not only intelligent, but at least somewhat helpful as well. You do no one good by simply degrading someone's work without offering advise. A real "professional" would. So by using the transitive property, it seems as though you probably only pretended to be a professional.

Actually davenelso your just one of them ruthless.
Get over yourself. I pass immaturity 23years ago. I am more mature then any of you degrading my professional status I don't pretend. You pretend to become fake with your fake emotional bullcrap to keep continuing this nonsense.

I will also be more intelligent at most things with or without large wording. Which makes no sense, only make you look smarter if you do so only because they tell you it will.
Give me a break & don't make me laugh. Don't be a follower you dumb americans. I will disable my account by just saying I hope you get nuked. STUPID FUCKING AMERICANS!

McLovin,

This will be hard for you but.. you're not a professional. Furthermore,
if InterfaceLift staff decides to ban your IP address from accessing it I don't think too many will be missing you.

Oh, it's so easy to comment. And say nothing.
mclovin, don't disable your account, please, this is childish.
Or, at least give us your web address to admire your professional shots.
Come on. Again, talking is easy. Taking nice pictures is tough.

McLovin, just for the record I'm not American but I still think you're a twat. And you don't seem to have disabled your account. Will your mum and dad not let you on the computer?

Hmmm, McLovin, what does being American have to do with the topic brought forth? Don't deflect the topic. I've lived in 4 other countries, and there are idiots everywhere, as you are proving. America doesn't have a monopoly on that... yet. ;-)

As to your professional status as a photographer... I have my doubts. You may be telling the truth. Again, I doubt it. I'd say if you made the majority of your income selling photographs, then its quite possible you are. Otherwise you'd just be an enthusiast. I've sold a good number of my work (not represented by this website, mind you) and worked at weddings, birthday's, corporate events, etc. I'm still not a pro. I'm an enthusiast. I'd have to dedicate my life to photography, which I don't.

Can we just let this die everyone? Some like it, some don't. Thats art for you.

Simply beautiful, teeklee. Remind me of the farms in my area. And being American has nothing to do with this, and I speak for most Europeans in this case. McLovin you need to calm down.
