Great depth of field and nice composition. Wish I could see the stem in the background; it looks kinda strange with a flower propped up all on it own like that but this is a very minor compliant. Very interesting flower and good color although some cooler green or blue colors could have balanced it out. Nice and sharp with little noise-excellent.

i agree, very good depth of field. my only gripe is the flower is so perfectly centered. if you were hunting deer you would center the scope on the deer, however its different with a camera, make the shot a little more interesting next time. (although this one is pretty interesting anyways). i look forward to seeing more from you!

the depth almost makes this dizzying. Not sure if that is good or bad as a wallpaper -- awesome photo, I just don't know if I can use it as a desktop image. Nice work, though.

Normally, I would agree with you but for this picture, the symmetry with the flower should be reflected with the composition. Given the somewhat bland, brown background, I wouldn't off center the flower or use the thirds strategy for framing because the focus would shift to the boring background too much.

I don't understand what you mean by "interesting". The whole point of this shot is its simplicity, why ruin it by adding all sorts of effects, and backgrounds, and what not. I think it's perfect. Simple, and beautiful. EXCELLENT WORK! Kudos to the photograper!

Interesting absolutely does not mean effects and backgrounds. See the rule of thirds I was talking about:

Using the rule might have made the photograph "more interesting" but I don't think it would have applied here.

I see what you mean about symmetry, your right, weird angles and backgrounds dont always help. this picture is a good example of simplicity, and it works.
