OK, if InterfaceLift is going to post a majority of Landscape photos I hope they can at least be like this. VERY nice image Giovanni. A wonderful composition. Makes me want to be the guy walking on the path. Thanks for sharing.

what happened to dual-monitor formats? haven't seen any for weeks.
this picture wouldn't work with 2560 x 1024 because i would lose wither the sky line or the house. So for Dual monitor format it would be better to shoot the house from a lower angle giving more sky and foreground and less mountains in the background.

its not your fault i have two monitors and can't use this on my desktop but I still love this picture, thanks for sharing!

What's with the yellow sky? Shopped or natural?

@jpicard
The thing is IFL is not getting bunches of pictures like this; you can't force people to submit certain types of images. I am sure IFL is not rejecting photos like this, but rather, they are getting loads of the generic beach, sunset, and waterfall pictures that everyone takes.

@democritus
I think you nailed it because many of the pictures do not work cropped very wide like that. The admins have to save all the image sizes themselves so they might have just gotten sick of making the dual monitor ones. Nothing is stopping you from cropping the pictures yourself! Most people shoot a normal picture though and aren't thinking of dual monitors when they take pictures.

Anyhow, it's a great photograph with great depth with the distinctive foreground and background. Did you use Shadow/Highlight adjustments to edit the photo at all, by the way? There are some characteristic marks left behind if you did. Other than that, awesome.

I have been a regular at interfacelift for some time, and when I was this, I seriously was just stunned. You've got the eye, and the subject. Keep taking photos in Abruzzo!

This is by far one of the best wallpapers on the site in a very long time. It's breathtaking. What put it over the top for me is the sky, it's such an amazing color. Love it!

Thank you very much for an awesome photo. I usually don't comment on websites, but this is an exception. I have always loved taking and viewing photos of this beautiful world we live in. Excellent eye!

I have to agree with everyone.It is one of the nicest shots in a long time. I personally would have left the person out of the scene.
Looking forward to your next submission.

Absolutely beautiful shot. The background is fantastic. One of the best I've seen on this site.
I disagree with not having the man in it. I think he (and his dog?) add to it. I reckon he's going home late in the afternoon, and he's ready to enjoy a glass of wine, while admiring the view.

I love everything about this picture. I think it is the best one I have ever had on my desk top. I would be interested in seeing more images of this region. What does is look like during the Spring? Summer?

Thanks again!

Simply stunning! I commented on this when it first came out but I guess I missed the approval link. Point is, this photo is worth commenting about twice! Very nice work. The colors are fabulous, the composition is perfect. I too wish I was the figure walking along the path. I honestly feel this is one of the best wallpapers I have seen here in a very, very long time.

When I saw this desktop on my son's computer I asked him where such a compelling and beautiful scene was from, what country? (I was sort of thinking Ireland maybe?) He told me about this site and so I searched until I found it. After reading where it was etc. what a delight to find out that I was born only an hour away from it, no wonder it tugged at me the way it did. Thank you so much Giovanni for sharing this.

These pictures are beautiful. My father was born in Pescara however, lived in L'Aquila. My father loved the pictures so much, that he downloaded them as his desktop picture! Thank you for reminding him of his home. Viva l'Italia.
