i like the composition.... shame looks like u did't use a tripod, for HDR u need a study tripod and a remote control and you can set you camera (canon) in the AER setting to take different exposures without touching the camera, that would been better for my point of view thanks

A lot of people specifically asked Macindows for this picture, so apparently it is well-liked :) Also, I don't understand people's problem with the fact that he takes a lot of photos while out walking and enjoying our beautiful world. Someone always makes a snide comment about that *shrug*
I think this shot is gorgeous, although for me the gate takes up too much of the picture and I therefore don't like it as a desktop. Keep up the awesome work, and thanks :)

Hey, it's finally up! :-)
I don't know if anybody else agrees, but to me this is one of those photos that just "feels" good. All the flaws aside, it brings a unique warmth to my desktop. I really like the colors and atmosphere, and the gate theme is a great touch. I can almost feel the sea breeze...!
Anyway, thanks and congrats, Macindows!

I'm not really much of a photo guru, but my interpretation of the piece isn't completely visual. I see it as a gateway to paradise. The gates are more symbolic than they are obstructive. Great work Macindows.

Get over it Partner .. he credited the original source very clearly in not only the caption of his submission, but also in the comments section. He has not claimed the concept was his own. That is not stealing. Nor does he need to steal as his own photography is quite excellent. It is sad he now has Interfacelift stalkers that are apparently going to leave whiney comments in every accepted wallpaper.
On another note, I second Krystina's request for Spectrum of the Sky and Spectrum of a Tree in wallpaper form, they are awesome :)

Partner, I wrote this in Birth of Europa, but I'm just going to copy it into here as well:
Mac credits his inspired work of which he drew inspiration from. We all draw inspiration from something. He gave credit where it was due - enabling us, the viewers, to locate with ease this "The Rise of a Planet" and compare. There is a clear distinction that I think you're failing to see. I hope not, anyway - because that would mean you're just wanting to stir things up. But the distinction in his work and the distinction in the credited work is there.
Move on. He didn't steal anything.

Partner you need to come off it. I agree with everyone else in that respect. This photo has excellent subject matter, but it isn't on par with your usual excellence in technique. However, I suspect that you already know that since you submitted it here only after being asked repeatidly for it. The branches on the upper right I think are actually just one branch that's been duplicated due to camera shaking and this can be seen all over to lesser extents in the photo. That said this is still head and shoulders better than most photos out there, keep up the good work.
