I think it would be more appealing if it had grass. I don't find the dirt/track marks calming.

This may sound stupid but...
Is it real?

I like how it looks like you have a wide angle lens on.. And I like where you took the picture, It makes the field look very distorted in a cool way.

@Phillysoul11,

The embedded data shows the camera was a Nikon D300.

Nikon D300, 2008:05:02 14:02:53, Focal Length: 10.0mm (35mm equivalent: 15mm), 0.0050 s (1/200)@ f/11.0, ISO 200, Manual Exposure.

One of my favorite photographs here. Love it.

I really like this game. :) It made me smile too. The tire tracks are nice as well because it makes certain things obvious which otherwise might not be so obvious! Plus, it adds another interesting element. Also, I like what you said: it truly is a game of shadows and light. This is a good shot. I hope to see more of your work on here!

Tranquility - Calming colors and the lack of 'too much' leads it right to my desktop :) - Thanks.

:) Hmmm, it's like being back home on the glacial hills of the eastern Dakotas. Thanks for the trip back to my childhood.

This is my favourite photo on the whole of this website. Bar none.

I downloaded it a year ago and still use it as the wallpaper of all of my digital devices on a regular basis. It's one of the most breathtaking pictures of nature I have ever seen. It makes me feel calm at a very deep level. I LOVE THIS IMAGE.

I'm with ireland. After many wallpapers over the years from this site this wallpaper has become my favorite (enough to have me register and say that). I always gravitate to landscapes dominated by grass, ocean and clouds, but this vast golden earth and hemispherical sky inspire tranquility unlike any body of water or sea of grass.

Aside from a high quality photo with a better camera, it's perfect to me.
