Wow, this has got to be your most impressive submission so far! Great composition, and the details are just amazing. Can't go wrong with twisting waterways. Nice job.

Really great! I could tell even from the thumbnail that I was really going to like this. I may even print it out large and put it on my wall.

I like this one alot. I love the mountains on the right side. My only complaint is the road. Where it turns with the river it doesn't look good. It kinda looks like it was just sprayed on there. Other than that I love it. I gotta get Vue and start messing around with this program. Keep up the good work.

wow people, im really amazed at so many of you liking it. purely technically speaking its a nice achievement, but overall this thing defines the word kitch. its tacky, pseudo-artsy. for me, the fakeness of it is just plain unpleasant to look at.

It Burns, take a look at Mohler's other stuff and you might appreciate this more. I can see why you'd call it kitsch (I felt the same way about his Windows-esque stuff) but I don't think he's trying to create the Mona Lisa 2.0. :-) He just does what he does, often interesting and always impressive.

Through the Magical Kingdom the Enchanted river flows, nurturing its inhabitants and the fertile earth both with its salutary elixir and ethereal beauty. Life here is paced slowly and peacefully, measured with timeless beats of the heart and unrushed thoughts. Mohler, the creator, surveys his realm while bidding all welcome to slake their thirsts and fully sate their souls. "Take your rest as you wish, and depart renewed!"

Really like this! Just a little nitpick though: The road looks a little fake especially going on the side of the hill. But great work!

I agree with It Burns, its good, but you can tell its fake, some people just like surreal/fake images i spose

Overall this is a great Illustration, but it needs some touching up. I completely agree with the comments on the road looking fake. On the side of the hill it should flatten out instead of just being ugly dirt tracks. Also the shadows don't quite have consistency or follow the direction that the suns rays would create. The sun is slightly to the right of center but the majority of your shadows would have the sun in the center or even to the left at times. They're well done, but you need to work on the direction of them. Overall great piece of work! I made it my wallpaper. :D

It's great Richard, although I agree with the others about the road..I think it just needs a bit of touching up :)

Very well done. I agree with ExcellenceoftheMind's comment about the shadows. You probably would have been better either ending the road when it reached the hill, or having it wander off the left of the screen below it. You would have to carve up the hillside to get a road to fit along it realistically. But, the lines on the side of the hill stand out from the rest of the work because the overall quality is so high. Take them off, align the shadows with the sunlight, and it is superb. That said, it is very well done.

We really appreciate the time and skill it takes to create these scenes. With all due respect to photography, you are starting with only a blank canvass and your imagination. Please keep up the good work.

I really like it. To me, it's the overall artwork that counts. Shadows are generally only minor details.

You know I use Vue 6.... and I seriously thought this was a photograph when I first looked at it. You did a hell of a good job on it. The composition with the river reminds me of a famous Ansel Adams photo.

Thanks, evidentally the road doesn't look to good, oh well..

The composition and lighting are nice here, but I think the vegetation and textures need work. Try scaling down the trees and upping the density. I would also put trees on the hills and maybe lower their elevation a little. Just my 2¢.

Thanks, I'm sure your right. How many years have you been messing with Vue?

Pretty good work here, I like the feeling. However the first thing I notice is the 'sideways' trail that comes up on the left on the side of the mountain. Any vehicle or person would kind of just, slip into the water =D. Also, the way the water meets the shore/land is too sharp. You should try adding some rocks, tall grass growing out of the water, or other easy ideas that can make the transition seem more realistic. There is also a lighting 'line' in the middle of the S bend on the water texture and some more lighting issues on the top right mountains that create blocky shading on the back of the mountain where the sun fades away into shade.
