The detail in the eye is incredible, great shot. I'll see how long I can stand having it up, I've always had a phobia of snakes...

I'm with Trout. It may be a technically excellent piece, but not a bloody chance that's getting anywhere near my desktop. I get the wibblies just looking at the thumbnail in the widget.

The detail is fantastic and also good to see a huge difference from your other wallpaper, sign of a talented photographer.

great colors, good focal point, but i hate the flaky roughed up skin in the foreground. that's the thing that would prevent me from putting it on the desktop.
a beautiful smooth skin is what makes these otherwise unpleasant creatures so visually pleasing. this picture goes against that. photoshop it out and it'll be a nice solid wallpaper.

Thanks a lot everyone! I have posted about 3-4 images from last weekend and only this got through!:D The snake was of course behind some glass, and hiding behind a little tree. So this is the only image a have of the snake. Earlier that day I had a chance to hold a little ball python!:)
About photoshoping the skin, I dont have the skills to do it. It would probobly the quality a lot.

Amazingly sharp and colorful, definitely going on my wall. @ those who think the water drops spoil it, its simply nature. Overall beautiful!

Excellent stuff, Grimnar, this is now my wallpaper on my laptops! Any chance of 2560x1600 so I can have it on my desktop too without scaling?

Never coming off my desktop, i hit the reefer the other night, looked at this picture and looked in the snake's eye and it was the most amazing site.

The_Holy_One: I used a Canon 40D with... Im still not sure wich lense I used. Its either my Sigma 105mm macro or my Canon 24-105 @ 105mm. The EXIF does not say wich lense. And since it dont, Im guessing its the 105 macro. And the shutter speed was 1/160 @ F4 and ISO 320. If I used the Canon 24-105mm I guess my shutter speed would of gone down to 1/20 easily and I would of used ISO 100 and I guess around F8. This zoo is located very near my so I might get another chance. And hopefully the snake is not hiding behind some twigg (?)!:)

Could you add the 2560x1600 version to here please?
Here's another green snake for those who are into this kind of thing. ;)
