Big Rock
April 6th, 2009
Taken at sunrise inside Harris Beach State Park in Oregon. I really like how the break in the clouds affects the composition. I used my Canon 50d.

Good stuff! The cloud / sun break captures the tone of the OR coast nicely. i really like the sparse composition, very relaxing to look at. Great first submission.

I like how the break in the clouds affects the composition too, and so I was very glad to add it to my Wallpaper Master rotation. I like everything about it!

Great composition and a beautiful place! The only thing I would have done differently is to use a polarizing filter to jazz up the clouds a bit. Great job!

Thank you so much for sharing this photo. It brings back so many great memories. This is my favorite beach on the Oregon coast. I used to camp there every summer with my youth group. Some of the kids liked to take tahiti rafts out to the rock which we called Goat Island. It was great fun. I love how you captured the paradox of the weather at the Oregon coast.
