Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico

January 25th, 2010

5 exposure HDR. Taken from the new walkway in Chapala, Mexico. I was in Mexico last week for a one week vacation. The weather was colder than normal and it rained several days, but those clouds made for wonderful sunsets. Enjoy all! Thanks for voting!!!

Exteremely well done. The uppermost portion of the larger, lower cloud got away from you a but, but it doesn't take away from the shot. Boy, is that sky ever on fire, yet it's not overpowering.

This is how you take a shot in low light, folks.

alx2056, fascinating work. This difference in space that we see in the sky and water is not very common - most prefer to capture the land or water or equivalence to the sky - but you took it very well with great color quality and shading. I think you cared less about precision and more with the creation of an atmosphere of warmth and feeling. Diffusion without exaggeration is what I see. So, thank you for showing us your work.

LTD602, great comment. That's right.

Maybe I am wrong but there are many black 'things' in the water...
Should they be there?

Please can we have an iPad version? By the way - did anyone else think those shooting stars in the iPad default wallpaper pic (very ugly in comparison to the stuff on this site) were scratches? Me, I thought they were dog hairs from my white Jack Russell. :-)
