I took this shot in Saint Jean de Luz, a fishing port on the Basque coast and now a famous resort, known for its architecture, sandy bay, the quality of the light and the cuisine. I only got rid of some elements on the beach to make it a bit more tidy. Otherwise, no alterations.
Nikon D700, AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED at 14mm, f/3.5, ISO LO1, Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Didn't like it at all until I downloaded it. Colors looked "garish" in the thumbnail view. Not so with the larger version - love it!

This is unbelievably *amazing!!!* You captured the most beautiful colors and lighting. The blues in the sky and water are simply enchanting, and the way the beach/sand is lit up is so magical and peaceful. I look at this photo and feel as though I'm there! This is on both of my Mac's now. Needed something fresh. The only thing that sticks out a bit too much is the clouds way off in the distance, a little too high contrast but the amount of light coming from that area, really hard to avoid anyway. Sweet lighting effects on the sand!!
