Fresh Day

June 25th, 2010

A fisherman riding his bike to work. The picture was taken in September 2008 in Caorle, Italy. Found it while browsing through my old photos some days ago.

Pentax K10D, ISO 100, ƒ/8, 1/500 sec, Sigma 17-70mm lens at 17mm.

Yes, we wouldn't want any constructive criticism or honesty or anything like that.

Very nice picture, I like the idea with the fisherman. Almost as if he is riding a never ending path. However i would remove the other pier to the right in the picture. Just a suggestion.

This is a great picture, to be sure. However, I felt it lacked in depth and color. About five minutes in Photoshop yielded a more dynamic appeal as shown below.

Now that I have seen 'PacMan's without fisherman ...

The photo looks better with the Fisherman ...

Great picture! Just made it my new wallpaper!

I actually like the fisherman. I think the picture would be largely empty without it. I do agree though that the pier on the right could be cut out.
Overall though, I really like it. Great picture.

LoneWolf, no offense, but your version looks a little garish. I think this photo benefits from its original bleakness. Italy's beaches do not look like New Zealand's.

Also, after seeing this shot sans fisherman, I have to agree that he needs to stay. I don't love this photo, though, so I won't say it's "great" -- it's just good. Keep submitting, ingo.

Personally, if it were my submission, I'd be pissed if somebody felt the need to monkey with it in Photoshop. Just take it or leave it...

as a photographer i'd consider it very rude if someone started editing my images and reposting them.....if the picture isn't your cup of tea ....simply dont use it as a wallpaper!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is a great wallpaper. It works pretty good as a wallpaper with a fisherman there... without this scene would be void. I think that fisherman adds some visual interest in this bleak seascape.

On the side note I would not be "pissed off" if someone played with my submitted free wallpaper. In this case this image is up for grabs and anyone can mess with it based on their taste but I agree reposting it may be a bit over the edge though. I haven't read IFL's user agreement in a while. Is there even one? I adjust and retouch about 98% of the content here on IFL for my personal taste or wallpaper needs and I don't thing there is anything wrong with that. There are a lot of amazing images in the loupe from time to time but most of them need some tweaking. Keep up good work everyone! Cheers.

"Submitted free wallpaper" or not, some things a man (or woman) just doesn't do. And screwing with someone else's work is one of them.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone including the OP for posting my PS job. I only posted my PS copy without the fisher man for bmndibb3 to see how it would look without him, and it (to me and many others) would be very boring and bleak if he hadn't been there. I only spent about 5-10 minutes removing him, I have very little skill is PS because I use it for simple things, but I have been learning little tricks and whatnot here and there.

Good photo by the way ;)

I photoshopped the guy out too, but I agree that if you do so, you should really just keep it to yourself.

the fisherman in that prospective hides a little light tube (a little light house for boat's sake), like the other on the right side of the river. photoshop can't fix this if you don't know how is it :)
