I agree with Mercyflush64, this is definitely different than other landscapes submitted to this site. I'm sure a lot of people might think this doesn't belong here, but after some thought and putting it on my desktop, and just the fact that I took so long figuring out if I like it or not, shows that it is an interesting piece. If the blacked out areas were more of a straight line, I wouldn't have liked it. However the organic shape of it, cloud formations and vivid colors give it that little something that makes it worth the download in my opinion.

While I do enjoy looking at some good photography, most of the ones posted aren't really suited to go on the desktop. This one does very nicely.

No way is it possible to even know that this photo was taken in Italy or that there was even any subject matter. Maybe if there was some detail in the blacked out bottom area even if it was ever so slight.

This is what I call a perfect wallpaper, simple as that! Beautiful colors, a little bit of blur, black parts up and down etc...

The photo was retouched with corel paintshop pro photo x3 ... the black bands are wider. Picture taken from the top of Monte Terminillo backlighting.
