I don't know. It looks rather bleak to me - which may be your intent - to make a statement about the nature of big cities. Not every picture has to be "pretty."

The one is dark and foreboding; the light is dingy and unfriendly, as if the air isn't safe to breathe. Which works as an archetype for the unhealthy character of city life.

This may have absolutely nothing to do with what you were thinking when you took the picture. The image succeeds nonetheless in that it got me wondering about what it means. Others will no doubt see it differently. Which is OK. There's nothing wrong with a picture that inspires multiple interpretations.

Good post by WhiteDog. I agree. It does inspire interpretation as any good art should. It's for that reason that I really like this shot. It invokes a feeling. For me it reminds me of when the light turns green in NY or any city and the rush of people crossing the road begins. It almost makes me feel like I need to be somewhere in a hurry.
