Cloudy Edinburgh
By Farr0kh
September 30th, 2011
My first, and certainly not last, visit of Edinburgh, Scotland with its typical cloudy sky. I enjoyed every minute of my three day vacation there. Great city!

It is very clear, but this is a very unusual, non-flattering view of Edinburgh. All of the world famous buildings, and dramatic skylines, are off to the left, and behind the photographer - Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street, Calton Hill, etc. This is taken from Calton Hill, looking towards Leith Docks!
Why?
It's like being at the Acropolis and taking a photograph of Alimos!
Don't get me wrong - as a photograph of clouds, it's very good. But it is mis-titled.
This should really be titled, "Clouds, taken from a hill in Edinburgh"
Had the photograph been taken from 1 km further back, on the ramparts of the castle, it would have been much more dramatic, and truly a photograph of "Cloudy Edinburgh. This is "Cloudy Leith."

I like the grey color of the cloudy and structure.
