Morning Mist

October 19th, 2011

I took this photo during a walk to the "Königsstuhl" in Heidelberg, Germany. The mood in the wood was just great so i had the chance to take this photo. I hope you like it too...

Canon EOS 400D, Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, Adobe Photoshop CS4.

My new wallpaper! Love the composition, and the colors/postprocessing is perfect. Creates an eerie mood, just want I wanted. Thanks!

This is my favorite so far out of the few pieces you have on here for download. It's not as sharp as it could have been in the in-focus area, but it works well because of the misty, desaturated cold look of the final product/image as a whole. What I really like though is what chrtran points out, which is the mood this gives. It's semi-eerie yet satisfying. I especially like the depth in this piece which is achieved whether on purpose or by happenstance, from the blurred areas and how low the camera was to the ground. Normally you don't "feel" like you are there in shots like this and they feel very flat, but in this one it feels like you can see far into the distance and it's "your" eyes looking and not the camera lens. I like it thanks FreaX! =)

It creates a mysterious mood that is excellent for a creative environment. Definitely a great capture. It got several likes on Facebook when it became my cover photo.
