La Dame de Fer

January 7th, 2012

"The Iron Lady" is what they call her. And she still stands strong today with a massive crowd at her feet. Shot here in the light of the sunset, with a haze of concentrated Autumn pollution.

Canon EOS T1i, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II. Developed in Adobe Lightroom 3.

Spectacular. Is this a candidate for a magazine cover, brochure or what? Forgive my ignorance of Paris topography but what was your vantage point? You are nearly square-on.

I wouldn't touch a thing. What a great shot. Rip-roaring!

Hey! Just realized "la Dame de Fer" was the 2600th wallpaper in here! I say that's cool!

What kind of lady keeps her feet spread so far apart, and let so many between them?

Anyway, there's a nice tone to this photo. It looks quite good in that respect.

The fact that the structure is cut off makes the composition a bit weird for me. I don't think it'd be improved by capturing the whole tower, but for some reason, I wouldn't like it as a wallpaper. It doesn't stop me from appreciating it, though.

This is an absolutely stunning photo. The filter use is right on. I had to take my wallpaper off slideshow for this one!
