Beauty in Desolation
By HuskerShoe
January 11th, 2012
This is a sunset photograph I took in September, 2011 on the Apache Trail on the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona. It was one of those spontaneous moments where you see something beautiful and must capture it so that the beauty may live on forever.
Canon EOS 60D, Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM.

The image is nice, though having lived in Tempe for three years, I know how beautiful the purple mountains at sunset can be. I would like to have seen a non-HDR version.

i live in PHX and have for all of my life. :) very happy to see a local photo on here!
i think the desert doesn't get enough credit for its true beauty and peacefulness. many people think it's just dirt and cactus.. this photo justifies the Arizona and Phoenix area well.
good stuff! :)

If anyone would like a non HDR version, I can send it to you or send you a link. HDR captures sunrises and sunsets better though as long as you don't try to over process it

I really like the colors. The extreme wide-angle gives a nice perspective.
But could you please remove Chromic Abbertation at the cactuses right and the grass or whatever left
