Buddha's Fingers
By morten.lines

This image was shot last fall in my hometown of Bodø (in the northern part of Norway). It was an overcast day and I was eating dinner with my girlfriend, when we saw that the Sun was grasping from behind some of the clouds. I grabbed my camera and ran out to capture the moment. I have heard this phenomenon being described as "Buddha's Fingers", hence the title of the image. I hope you enjoy!
Canon EOS 60D, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. Cropped to 16:10 in Apple Aperture.

nice, you have straighten it. I saw it some time ago in the loupe and there it was awry.
I thought, oh no such a perfect image and it isn't straight, but now its really good!

I thought they were called "God rays", but what do I know. I like it.
But what are those weird bulges along the horizon?

To bad the mountains and such are so stark in contrast. I know that's what what most people want, but I think some land color would be nice.
