Ranch House

April 1st, 2012

While driving accross New Mexico I decided to get off I-40 and explore some of the old route 66. I saw this old truck and sign in Tucumcari, New Mexico.

Nikon D700, Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED, Hoya Circular Polarizer, Adobe Photoshop CS5.

This is what it is all about ...

Pictures of the real world we live in ! Not some mountian range 98% of people will never see in their lifetime ..

You probably could have come a little closer to the subject and brought down the emptiness of the skyline ..

Great Photo ..

I never would have thought I would see a picture of this place on here. Me and my parents stayed here on a vacation to Colorado. It's a town were you would see tumbleweeds.

Thanks for the comments!

tweety51: How long ago did you stay there? It looked to be shut down for quite some time. It definitely is tumbleweed country!

Persons0: We stayed there in 2008. From what I can see, in the picture, it hasn't changed since.

I grew up in Tucumcari... it was a booming town back in the day. Now there isn't much there. I swear the movie Cars was made about Tucumcari.
