Absolutely gorgeous monochromatic image! What a nice change of pace from the typical landscape image that makes it on the main page here. I bet you're loving that new D600...

The contrast, gradients and sharpness are very impressive!

Looks like your D600 has some oil spots.. you missed some in the clouds

A very nice moody image. Black and white is hear to stay.

You can tweak this image to your liking simply by employing the levels command in Photoshop. But all in all I think your rendition is the best.

Thank you! @cadman - thanks for letting me know. My D600 has been having the dust issues everyone has been talking about - I need to get it into Nikon for service!

I've had the same desktop 'wallpaper' for over 9 years- the old, Apple-wallpaper, under the category Black & White, called 'Lightning'. no other picture came close, for me..

a few days ago, I bought a new Macbook Pro with the fancy retina display and I couldn't import my wallpaper ! several -long!- calls to Apple Care and they couldn't help me either..

I must have looked at ?100 wallpaper photos, by now.. searching for something that would move me (for inexplicable reasons!) as much as 'my' old one-

yours is it!

it deserves a poem..
(thank you!)
