Cold Morning

By xys
February 25th, 2013

Captured from the "Alpergensee" at around 2,510m altitude in Switzerland last August. The weather had not been that good in the evening and quite unstable during the night but the morning compensated for it all. I nearly overslept and missed the sunrise. Luckily I caught a glimpse of it when I woke up for a moment at around 6 AM and was ready to go within a second :)

Camera Raw, Photoshop, Cokin Filters.

Sony Alpha DSLR-A700.

Photo Settings: 12mm, f/20, 1/5 second, ISO 100.

Are you standing up on the mountain so high that you're above the clouds? Sorry if this question sounds stupid lol, it just seems so unreal to me.

Hey chongdm, thanks for your interest. Yes, I was indeed standing higher (~2500m above sea level) than those clouds. Sometimes valleys get filled by fog through the night and that's how it looks from above. If you're interested you maybe want to check other pictures with a so called "sea of fog". Cheers.
