Slice of Fire

May 15th, 2014

A spiral galaxy as seen on edge.

Created in Adobe Photoshop CS6 from scratch, no stock images used. One of my first attempts at this, a bit rusty I feel. Let me know what you think!

No rust at all. Magnificent rendering. It packs an emotional wallop. I love it.

By the way, I can see my house from here!. Just a little levity if you don't mind.

This wouldn't look out of place on the NASA website. It's beautiful, my new desktop for sure (replacing one of your others, by the way) If this is you rusty, what can you do next when you're upto speed?! I look forward to finding out. Great job.

I like the level of detail and the colours used. Looks like something real.

It doesn't look much like a 'normal' spiral galaxy should look like in our universe. Reminds me of a proto planetary system, or maybe a giant planet that exploded. I think if you flattened it out a bit near the centre and added some white/bluish tones to the colour scheme it would help.
