Beams of sunset light shining through the coastal hills on the west coast of New Zealand. This shot was taken between Fox and Franz Josef glaciers by the side of the road after a long day of driving. I saw the light in the rear view mirror but couldn't see a good place to frame it. In the end I stopped just before turning the final corner into the mountains and got lucky!

Morning light strikes Mount Sefton, part of the Mount Cook National Park in New Zealand. Mount Sefton is one of the lesser known peaks in the area, but still rises to over 10,000 feet.

This photo was taken on a nature trail at Frederick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Focus is on the brown leaf, with other varieties blurred out to different degrees.

Located in the Colombia River Gorge, Oregon. The total height of the two steps of the waterfall is 620 feet.

This staged photo was created with a variety of leaves collected in Virginia during late August. The leaves were arranged in a blue bird bath. As the sun was coming up in the morning it illuminated the leaves to near perfection. This photo is completely unedited.
