First Beams
By salar
October 3rd, 2011
6 o'clock in the morning, after driving 2 hours to catch the first beams of sunlight in front of the Alborz chain mountains. Warmest light in a frozen area. Iran, Polur city, Alborz chain mountains.
Nikon D5000, Tamron SP AF10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di II, RAW edited in Adobe Photoshop CS5.
Leaf Assortment
By AndrewDaw
October 2nd, 2011
This staged photo was created with a variety of leaves collected in Virginia during late August. The leaves were arranged in a blue bird bath. As the sun was coming up in the morning it illuminated the leaves to near perfection. This photo is completely unedited.
Canon EOS Rebel T1i, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS kit lens, f/5.6, 1/60 second exposure.
Holywell Bay
By JulianHJ
October 1st, 2011
On a week's holiday to north Cornwall, my wife and I spent plenty of time photographing the scenery, including a number of bays. Holywell Bay, just south of Newquay was perhaps my favourite, and we were lucky enough to see some great sunsets.

Cloudy Edinburgh
By Farr0kh
September 30th, 2011
My first, and certainly not last, visit of Edinburgh, Scotland with its typical cloudy sky. I enjoyed every minute of my three day vacation there. Great city!

Ferie
By jonpacker
September 29th, 2011
This is the Milford Highway in New Zealand on a cold morning. It was taken while travelling out of Fiordland. After many days of perfect whether, when we finished exploring the natural attractions, the biggest snow storm in 50 years hit the southern island. This was the day before, and the first weather we had that was not clear blue skies. We drove into this area with a long straight road in the middle of a flat glacial valley, and I had to stop immediately. The lighting, the mist, the frost, everything worked out for a really nice photo.

Bodega Head Sunset
September 28th, 2011
I was staying in Bodega Bay when I took this photo; and you just never know when the fog will lift, but sometimes when it does it's beautiful! It was pretty windy and cold but nonetheless beautiful! It's a little dark to the right in my opinion but the dark contrasts well with the vibrant sunset colors.

Mont Agel
By Crevisio
September 27th, 2011
An evening twilight shot from the Mont Agel, near the Nice Air Base Station located at the top of the mountain (1,148m). Weather conditions were superb, clear, clean air, almost no humidity or wind. View is up to 80km to the terrains of Saint Tropez. 3-exposure HDR with a 14mm wide angle lens.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM.
Succulents and Raindrops
September 26th, 2011
This is a succulent plant we have at my house and I love the patterns in it, especially with the rain drops. I used the macro lens to capture the droplets! Hope you enjoy.
Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/50 second, Manfrotto tripod, Adobe Lightroom 3.
Sweet Salmon Creek
September 25th, 2011
This shot was taken on an incredibly windy evening in Bodega Bay! It's taken from a pull out off of Highway 1, and overlooks Salmon Creek running into the Pacific Ocean at North Salmon Creek Beach. It's two shots, 1 exposed for the sky and 1 exposed for the foreground. I used masked layers in Photoshop to blend the two together. I'm pretty happy with it, wish it was a tad more in focus but I feel the wind contributed to that a lot as well!
