Took this shot from Route 163 while on my way to Monumental Valley.

While the entire ski resort was overcast and had to deal with a snow storm I decided to try my luck higher up the mountain. The clouds suddenly disappeared and all I could think about was capturing the moment. The contrast between the storm under the clouds with the Sun shining above made this an even more mesmerizing moment.

Taken at Aci Trezza, a town in Sicily, southern Italy. Located on the coast of the Ionian Sea, this village has a long history of maritime activity. Aci Trezza is a popular spot for Italian vacationers during the Summer.

Off the coast of Aci Trezza are three tall, column-shaped islands. According to local legend, these great stones are the ones thrown at Odysseus in The Odyssey. Not far from the coast (about 400m) is the "Island Lachea", identified as the Homeric "island of goats". Today it houses the University of Catania's biology station.
