Be Bold
February 17th, 2012
While at my family reunion at Priest Lake in Idaho, I found myself hangin' out under the afternoon sun. After having my eyes closed for a bit while listening to some awesome reflective instrumental music, I opened them to find this lone cloud floating effortlessly in an ocean of blue. Couldn't help but smile and admire the scene. Thank goodness I had my camera right next to me!

Very interesting to see how small we are against these huge mountains around us. Isfahan, Iran.

Red Sand

Taken early morning on the road of the Sossusvlei Park, Namibia. The contrast between the sky and the dunes is spectacular, adding to this, a little tree standing up at the edge of the desert.

Half Moon Bay
By Matt Hanson
November 10th, 2011
Taken in Half Moon Bay, California. I used a series of cheap ND and Graduated ND filters which gave the scene a magenta hue. After correcting the colors in Photoshop, I realized I liked it better the way it was.

This morning I headed out of Québec City to find a good spot for an upcoming fashion photo shoot. Before leaving I quickly looked at the Google Maps satellite view to find some woods in the area. I turned off of the highway where I planned and got lost, but I came across this huge pine plantation. They where all planted in a symmetrical manner like soldiers.

ESO's VLT reveals the Carina Nebula's hidden secrets.
This broad panorama of the Carina Nebula, a region of massive star formation in the southern skies, was taken in infrared light using the HAWK-I camera on ESO's Very Large Telescope. Many previously hidden features, scattered across a spectacular celestial landscape of gas, dust and young stars, have emerged.

I loved this part of my trip, because the landscape was different. We listened to the radio as we drove down this magnificent road.
It was a dream, it's now achieved.
