I can't wait for winter weather!

Seeing the first light of a wonderful day reflected in a heart-shaped pond makes for a pretty good start. The picture was taken at Milford Sound, Fjordlands, New Zealand, on a chilly autumn morning. For a place that gets roughly 360 rainy days a year, I turned out to be pretty lucky!

This was a piece of abstract artwork I did with pastels about 11 years ago. I had it drumscanned recently, and cleaned it up extensively in Photoshop.

While randomly looking for things to shoot on the Virginia side of the Potomac, I came upon a gull sitting on this sign with the Washington Monument sitting in the background. I decided to have my girlfriend scare it so I could get some flight shots.
