Along the River
November 15th, 2011
Taken on the way out of Yosemite in April of 2010. We stopped several times along the to marvel at the beauty of this place. The contrast of the scene called for HDR, so I bracketed 5 exposures and combined them later in Photomatix. This shot captures the mood of the place when I was there.

From the top of Cloud's Rest, looking towards Half Dome in the morning. August, 2010. The dual-monitor version is highly recommended. You can purchase this photograph and my other work from my website:

Tunnel View
November 2nd, 2011
Yosemite National Park. After nearly an hour of winding, boring forest roads, nearly all of my passengers felt the pangs of motion sickness. We then entered a concrete tunnel with a point of light in the distance. Once we emerged from the tunnel, this majestic view greeted us. I was swept off my feet. So worth it.
I had photographed this view in the morning, but it wasn't until the late afternoon, on our way out, that the low sun drew swathes of warm light across the valley. This photo was the result of waiting for the light.

Near Glacier Point...

Just few steps away from the tourist-laden Glacier Point, a more natural setting for the incredible Half Dome and Yosemite High Country can be found.
The dual-screen version is strongly recommended as the original photograph is very wide.
Canon EOS 5D classic, Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 (C/Y).

Was it all a dream?
January 30th, 2013
A long exposure view of Half Dome from Glacier Point (the same point of view used on the California state quarter). I love how surreal long exposures can be and this evening brought us some deep colors late in the evening. It was actually dark enough that we needed flashlights to walk safely.
