Just because this isn't some fancy artistic photograph, doesn't mean it doesn't belong on this site.
There are lots of Apple users on this site and I'm sure many people like having a nice, minimalist background. I really like this background. It's the first Apple logo background that isn't trying too hard to be too flashy or anything.
Thanks for upping this!
And, paragon269, maybe you should stick to what you were doing before: keeping quiet when you have nothing good to say. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people won't like it too.

This is a comment section, if I choose to leave feedback that doesn't necessarily agree with everyone, you can take your own advice to me as well and shut up. A wallpaper like this is a simple copy and paste job - there is no artistic portrayal whatsoever. My invsible 4-year-old cousin could come up with something simplistic as well (if that's what is appeasing to you) that doesn't look like it was knocked off the front page of apple.com.
And could your retort to me represent an obligatory 3rd grader any more... "if you don't like it doesn't mean other people won't like it too." Thanks for the eye-opener, Ghandi.

To be fair, any of the wallpapers on this website could have been stolen or taken from anywhere. The authors and artists on this website have no way to offer proof that any of their work is legitimate, much less artistic. I could prove my point by taking a screenshot of GameSpot.com, formatting it for widescreen, and uploading it.

@paragon: Nowhere on this site does it say submissions must have any "artistic portrayal". This image is here simply because it is a nice, high quality desktop background.
If you have issues with it because it's not "artistic" or doesn't portray any originality or whatnot, learn how to express those ideas in a more constructive manner. Oh, and leave the belittling and immature comments for your 4-year-old cousin because you're the one who sounds like a 3rd grader.
Oh, and as for my "3rd grader retort", you obviously didn't understand what I was trying to get across. I was trying to help you understand why this image is on the site: Because many people will like it, despite the fact that you don't. Does that make sense to you now?

I really must apologize to everyone. No idea what was going through my head when I pondered why this made it onto a highly-respected site. If I had known everyone required tampons because they're such little bitches when it comes to negativity, I'd have aimed higher at offending the mass majority. Please accept my apology; it comes from the utmost sincerity and number 3 on the list of things I give a s**t about.

Hi there, I am the "artist". To understand the black background with the apple logo, you must know that tis wallpaper is part of a set of 6 minimalistic wallpapers with different colors, like blue, green, pink and so on. I hope that Interfacelift will publish these other wallpapers soon. In the meantime you may visit my homepage to download them.

Hey Ralph. It's too bad you felt like you had to come here to somehow justify your creation. Even if it was not part of a set, this is still an awesome background on its own. Some people, unfortunately, don't know how to express the fact that it doesn't suit their personal tastes without making you out to sound bad and untalented.
I think you know who I'm talking about. You can ignore her.
Anyway, keep up the good work!

I actually quite like this background. I was looking for an Apple "mac" background for a long time to put on my PC...but I never found one so I bought a mac instead. But I ended up using this background on my PC too.

Well, Apple Inc. does make the most stable operating system in the world but a plain black backround isnt my thing either. If anybody has even a small amount of skill working in photo shop then you can make this anything you want it to be, but just dont mess with the Apple Logo
Later!!!!

Ralph, thanx for reminding us how "...just a black background with the apple-logo, nothing more, nothing less...", as you clearly put it, can easily replace a bunch of others.

Lao-tzu once said, “Manifest plainness, embrace simplicity, reduce selfishness, have few desires.”
Simply perfect.

I like it, it looks good. Might get boring after a while but it's nice. As for the whole argument about skill, it's true it doesn't take much. Those who don't know how to do this and are in awe, really only need about 10 mins with someone who knows how to use the basics of photoshop to be able to do something like this. Is it art? It's an internationally known multi-billion dollar company's logo on a black background. Again.. it looks good, but I'm not the type that believes paint thrown at a canvas is art (although it may look good). This is just one of many correct points of view, hence the moot arguement.

Yes, Gef and Ralph, it's minimalistic. Apple tries so hard to be minimalistic. They are just too cool with their programs that are terrible, even before they chop them up into 1,000 different windows. I'm going with the originator, Windows for the win!
