Colours are too dull. Nothing really interesting in the scene. Darker tones in the room and more light coming from the window would have added more mood. Overall 6/10.

I don't really like this. It's a very inventive idea, and I appreciate that you're trying new things but the execution seems off. The legs on the chairs seem very rendered rather than realistic, which is probably my biggest problem with it. The window with blinds drawn on the far right just seems like a way to show off the look of the blinds and I think detracts from the overall feel. With an apartment like that they'd likely put in large windows to match the main wall and it might look interesting with windows done on both sides of the corner. Anyway, it's an interesting idea, work on the execution.

I agree about the legs on the chairs. In real life the Barcelona chair is either made with a chromium alloy on stainless steel or (in the more expensive versions) with polished stainless steel. The model makes it look like unpolished steel or even raw aluminium (which would of course make it snap in a jiffy).

You stole the background cityscape picture from another InterfaceLIFT photo.
You can find the original picture (which is excellent) here:

You should at least give the original photographer credit. You thief!

I kind of agree with what some of the other people are saying. I think this has a lot of potential though. I definitely think there needs to be more color. I'd like to see a view of an ocean outside the window instead and maybe have the chairs a vibrant orange or similar color to contrast. I liked this at first, but upon downloading the full image and putting it as my wallpaper I found it, particularly the colors, to be especially dull. Its good, but I think you can definitely improve. =)

The chairs look like a bit of an after-thought - they don't seem to be casting much of a shadow, especially where they meet the floor. But my biggest problem is the perspective of the city scape outside against the flat interior. To achieve that view the building containing the flat must be leaning over at about 45 degrees!

Good ideas but it looks way to fake to be a nice wallpaper.
- The shadows of the chairs make them look like they levitate
- The city perspective isn't the same as the apartment's
- The wooden floor looks unreal
- There are lots of shadow issues on the walls
Still nicely done. I'd love to see the v2 :)

I like this background. Granted all the comments made above once I read them I could notice them but overall it's kinda warm and mellow, matches my laptop and definitely makes me feel like I'm somewhere other than Seattle right now.

Nice one monkey2ewok. If you actually bother to read the description for this wallpaper you'll notice that the artist not only gives credit to the original photographer but even includes a link to the wallpaper. Maybe you should pay more attention before posting such dribble and accusing others of theft.

hey. good work, however i think that u couldve at least changed the background and used something else. instead of stealing another guys work. i like the orgininality of the pic, good theme. but it just doesnt mesh wit the context

I made the original image used in the background here. He didn't steal it like some of you have accused, he asked for permission before using it and I gave it to him. Furthermore, I think it's a very well crafted design and a great use of integrating two spaces to create something original. Well done indeed.

However, if any of you would like to help me take care of an actual art thief, check out the link below and report a policy violation or make a comment on this guy at DeviantART who ripped off my work directly from this site. DeviantART hasn't listened to me yet, so maybe more people will help.

it's only impossible, once you say it is
sure it won't come easy - what does!
but it's not impossible.

Love the wallpaper, been using it for a while. Just wondering though, are those chairs shopped in? I saw the reflection, however the shadow made me feel weird. The left chair's legs seem to float - Amazing and all, just wondering [Please don't take this as criticism like everyone else does :(]

What you think, you become.
If you truly WANT a place like that, you must do one thing toward achieving it every day. Draw plans for it, take a class to learn how contractors might build it, study plans for solar energy devices for it, put aside a dollar in a 'Dream' jar .. just do SOMETHING every day toward your goal.
Here is the plan: grab a pencil and paper and write down where you want to be in six months, in twelve months, in five years. Then, resolve to do 'one thing' every day toward that first goal.
You have the talent, now all you need is the desire.

The more I study this the trippier it gets. The chairs do look like they levitate and the building DOES look like it's leaning over. WEIRD. The colors and the shadows are pretty great. More texturizing would be great in V2 if it ever happens. At least you have the ability to visualize and manifest something you would like to have and that is very important in getting what you want, so keep it up :D

I would prefer a view of the country or the beach, but I love the feel of the comtemporary interior design. The light, neutral colors are very appealing accented with the warmth of dark brown on the chairs.
