I really like this picture. It has a good "presence." Of the ones linked by IFL, I especially liked the first two - though those appear to be ducks, not geese... :)

This one is ugly. I especially hate that blemish spot under the tree as if some aliens raided that field and left a sand dune...totally off of the theme of the picture. I would like to see peacefulpond and silence pics...they sound like they might be fun. Thanks InferfaceLIFT for bending your ear down to general populace...woopee

Picture #1
Why it shouldn't be posted...it's a) too grainy, b) geese are too small and too dark, and, c)there should be more water up front to create more glare and reflections.

If it weren't for that tree in the center it would have been an awesome picture worthy of my collection. It's better to place tree on the side when making 'sun behind the tree' photograph with it's brushes/twigs in front of the sun...this way the tree is not the center of attention but the difference colors and variance in composition is where you, the viewer, become in the center.

Picture #3
This one is more like it...getting warmer closer to perfection.

Picture #4
Ummm...nothing appeals to me on this picture. If there would have been water in front then maybe I would like it otherwise not. The overall sense is too dry and convoluted.

Picture #5
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! This would be a GREAT addition to wallpapers galery. yummy yummy

Picture #6
GOOD EXQUISITE THEME! More of wallpapers like this one would be desirable. Beautiful color combinations with a simple elegant design.

Picture #7
Too much blue haze, naturally, but I would like to see some cloudy sky over such mountains not only the mountains themselves.

To Macindows, why are you posting your images in my wallpaper page? Would you mind if I posted links to my images in your pages here on IFL?

calm down TheReal7, having read your arrogant comments of the previous guy's work i was expecting an annie lebowitz, what i got instead is a set of fairly mediocre images, most of which are far worse than anything ever posted on this website.

anyway, if there's one good thing that came out this upload of yours, it's the link to the lovely wallpaper that macindows posted here in this forum. here's a few of mine in return. they are crooked, the colors are off, and they're noisier than barack obama's wife....i'm sure you'll love em. and no need to thank buddy.

peace.

@ Barney Gumble
I love the colours in your pictures! So rich and luminous, almost if you'd be there! However, they could be a bit less noisy. Maybe around the level of Obama's wife! ;-)

I am not understanding why Interfacelift is putting this person's wallpapers up for popular vote? I have not seen that happen once in the year or so I've visited this site. I hope it is not because of the hissy fit he threw in Just_Me's "Sunset" wallpaper. Maybe it was to make the point that some people think their work is more deserving that others, when in reality it is no better than average.

@all commentors:

I just want you all to know I requested IFL to remove my upload. I'm just fed up with all those who used the post as bad reference to there own *best* job.

@TheReal7, may I use your words as a critic on your post? "There is noise in the sky". Hey, I've noticed some here..! I would like to join Barney Gumble on this..

Good luck to you all..

Copy of request:
Dear webmaster,

I would like to request you to remove the picture I uploaded to your site. I am just fed up with the critics. I appreciate constructive critics..but if you read the ones at my picture, you'll understand.

Sorry for to bother you for this, but I would like to have my picture removed.

Thanks, Just_Me

@Just_Me
Too late my friend, your pic is in my collection already, and you know what? it's on my desktop too and it looks perfect! i don't know why everyone including me was dumping on it.

actually i do know, and it's got nothing to do with your photo, believe me. it's just frustration and disappointment for having multiple uploads ignored, and the moment a photo gets posted that isn't a 100% wow!, the question pops out 'why him and not me?' that's all there is to it, that's why Scott whashisname took it out at you like that.

your photo, while far from perfect, makes for a lovely, atmospheric, non-intrusive wallpaper.

i still do think the system here sucks, as i'm sure it makes me miss out on many good pics. the problem is that it's all up to the taste of a single person, or a small group of persons. i would appreciate an addition of a section called "trash", or "rejects", or "nice try", where i could see all the other photos that didn't make it into the daily selection.

who's with me?

Thanks mate, I am happy you put it that way. I hope you get me right, I didn't place the comment to get compassion, but your reaction to it cheers me up..thanks again!

Although I got my upload removed becouse of the comments it also gave me a message. Maybe I'll return when I've made a shot thats worth placing on IFL!

Hey..dit you submit the photos you linked above? I bsolutely love them..especially the third one!

I think it's too bad that a great site, where I come to get ALL my wallpapers (because there is no other site out there like this) is having all this drama.

Why not just accept the submissions that are approved and give constructive criticism where it is due, and otherwise shut up and enjoy the quality wallpapers until one comes along you enjoy. Throwing fits, getting angry at IFL and causing drama in general is bringing this site's quality down to something like myspace with childish comments.

So let's enjoy the submissions, after all, not everyone can be pleased with the same art, we all have different tastes. But let's leave the bickering and drama out of an otherwise fantastic site.

I wasn't super impressed with anything here. The primary image is lackluster for me and that weird patch in front of the snag is odd at best. The rest of the photos that Interfacelift posted for some manner of vote weren't fantastic either. There were some ok shots, but all of them have something slightly off about them. I do like the 3rd shot ok, but a higher ISO would have made it better I think. The photo macindows posted is alright, certainly not his best, but it will probably end up on here. I do quite like the stuff Barney Gumble posted, but they're not in 2560x1600 and won't fill my 30 in, so oh well...

just_me, I tried to give you a constructive critique of your photo, but your photo was taken down before I was able to post it. Please send me a private email at bdwilcox_hotmail.com (where the _ symbol is replaced by an @ sign, of course) and I'll send it to you.

@ JennyPharson: I am in love with your picture. The picture of you. Sorry if that's creepy and/or awkward.

@ everyone else... why has this thread become a posting board for pictures that weren't accepted? Leave it to the moderator to pick the pictures. THEN you can whine about how they aren't accepted. In the meantime, lets keep the focus on the work of the individual who did get accepted.

@jon.mckee

Yes, it's a bit creepy to be in love with a picture ;p Thinking she looks attractive would not have been creepy.

Second, this thread has become what it has because an Interfactlift moderator linked a bunch of photos that have not yet been accepted and left it open for comment :) Did your read the first post?

The reason my gmail account is 1993montero is because I actually have a 1993 Mitsubishi Montero. That means that the profile picture you post should probably be you unless its a relative/friend/role model.

I'm so disappointed with this website over the past few days. Are we now playing favorites? Maybe TheReal7 and the webmaster are buddies? I love this website, but just can't stand the politics around here.

I know this will sound gross and literal, but to me this photo is like a huge, uncircumcised penis. Big and nasty, with little appeal, unless the lights are out.

"Absolute garbage. Technically, artistically, aesthetically useless"

Comments like that are absolutely pathetic. If you hate this picture so much go cry to admin and tell the admin how much it sucks and ask to remove.

Thats the MATURE way of dealing with it and not by leaving flaming comments. You really make a bad image of yourself. Far worse than any wallpaper on this site..

Cyreus -- nonsense. It's easy to be PC, inoffensive, and "constructive" your entire life, pleasing everybody but yourself. It's much harder to say that something stinks when you really think it stinks. That's called honesty. It's harder. And far more mature, in reality.

If I'm wrong, then everything on this site is masterwork. (Obviously, that's rubbish.)

Learn to deal with tough opinions. Mine is harsher and more jagged than anything you've ever encountered in your life. Welcome to hell.

How difficult is it for you to say "I do not like this image and will never use it on my desktop"? That would your absolute honesty and despise of the image without flaming and insults.

What you did was not giving opinion, it was a rubbish insult.

re 'brizkit'

am i correct in assuming, that this being a US site, anything derogatory or offensive that a differently coloured person like 'brizkit' says has to be understood as his way of fighting discrimination, racism and oppression he's been suffering all his life?

being neither muslim nor jew, (or black, apparently) hence being fortunate not to have been subjected to a mutilating ritual that would leave me with maimed genitalia, i probably should be offended by his comment. but is it ok to do so even if he's black?

very little experience with political correctness over here, any advise would be appreciated.

Concept was good. Lonely subject against heavily receding background creates feeling of isolation and desolation. Also, composition is good with rule of thirds followed and with the flow of tree's line leading into photo.

Technically could have been better. Sky on right is blown out, tree trunk is too dark (could have used fill flash to lighten trunk), and sandy patch is distracting (Photoshop). There also appears to be vignetting caused by polarizer in upper left corner. If possible, try this composition at sunrise and sunset to see if sun position is better for polarizer and for tree lighting.

Barney Gumble, only a deeply racist person would focus on skin color before substance. Your statement reveals more about you than me. What does schemgma have to do with pigment? What does my race have to do with my penis?

Cyreus, you make me sick to the core of my being. I am attempting to be honest and forthright, and you want me to sugarcoat my thoughts so that nobody here could possibly feel any negative emotions. Unfortunately, good cannot come without bad. Quality cannot come without inferiority. Deal with it. I am a juggernaut of truth.
