Nice imagery. The one thing that bothers me, and that could easily be fixed in Photoshop, is the little nub at the end of his beak. It definitely draws the eye, breaks the line of the bird and removes the iconic feel of the image you seem to have been going for. Though less "pure" in the conventional sense, the fixed version would have a feel more akin to a Japanese silhouetted silk-screen.

This would make a wonderful desktop, I wished you'd uploaded it in 2560x1600 :\ Maybe next time, keep up the good work.

I like it, but the one thing that bothers me is the branch that appears to be closest to you and is OOF doesn't look like it belongs, and it looks like it was blurred in Photoshop

Thanks all for your kind comments. I had a go at the beak but after a few unsatisfactory attemps I left it (impatient).I see what you mean but no blurring was done in photoshop, it is a rather shallow DOF.

Don't get me wrong. I really like the image and the idea behind it. My criticism is meant to improve your skill, technique and eye (as well as the image under discussion), not to belittle you or your work.

Really stunning. I personally like the small "imperfections" and think they give more richness to the picture, keeping it just between the realm of photography and illustration.

Probably my favorite wallpaper of all time. The softness and limited use of color, the depth, the sharpness, and the simplicity make this wallpaper a winner.
