AWESOMENESS

One of my favorite Barney Stinson statements from How I Met Your Mother.

"When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again. True story."

I enjoyed the phrase, but not the squares behind it.

I think he chose this background because Barney is always seen in a tailored suit, I may be wrong though.

If the team let your picture through, then I'm surprised I haven't seen any of my pictures excepted....Oh well...Pretty nice.

Nice thought...but with all the awesomeness of most of the photographers here, I'm surprised they let this through...once again, sometimes people need to be reminded of just how awesome they can be

You should take care of kerning in word AWESOMENESS, as this is the main element in your project. I don't like the stained background visible in higher resolution. Nothing special.

Dude, Go to YouTube and listen to "one of your favorite" quotes. "When I get sad I stop being sad and be awesome instead". It's not "Awesome AGAIN" Take this down due to inaccuracy! Thank You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gqYAuFvtXM

I know I'm risking a ban, but this is horrible to me on so many levels. An overused cliche incorrectly lifted from a generic American sitcom is plastered onto an unimaginative and amateurish background design topped off with crude letter spacing and boring colors and cheesy stock gradients and zero redeeming creativity. IFL makes weird choices sometimes.

There's so much negativity here right now. If you dont like it, that's your choice. I think it's a cool dektop, and I'm going to use it for a while at least. I think it's certinally good enough to be accepted here; IFL should have more than just photography as backgrounds.

I do not care for it. However, art comes in many different forms. This is still art, but it is not photography. For that matter, anything posted here Created with Vue 6 Infinite, is considered art, but I do not care for any of it either. I think this site should be for true photography only, and the design art be sent to say deviantart.com I come here to see the fantastic landscapes that people take with their camera's, not to see a "digitally generated" image of a landscape or some random quote made into a desktop wallpaper. I'm not saying your work is not good, everyone has their own style and tastes when it comes to art, but I do think it should be posted elsewhere.

I'm glad Clint is around. I'm all for accuracy. Not only that, but I hate the message that this sends with the word "again". Anyone who says this quote sounds like they're really stuck on their self. Saying "instead" just makes it so much better because it doesn't say, "I am usually awesome unless I'm sad." But the correct quote tells me this, "Instead of being sad, I'll be awesome because I'm a positive thinker."

BJB Productions: Your work obviously HAS been 'excepted'; presumably you wonder why it has not been 'accepted'. Perhaps I will get grilled for this by people saying this site is not about grammar. But that is not a matter of grammar. It's a matter of what you actually mean when you say something and taking care to use the right word. Otherwise you actually contradict yourself. I don't like this piece of work at all. The typography is NOT good - the effect on the word 'Awesome' just about scrapes by, but repeating it on the line below does not. You can hardly read it. It actually shows no artistry or understanding of using type as art by using variants of serif and sans serif, for example, or any other real creativity that doesn't rely solely on computer generation. I do think that art comes in all shapes and forms and using type as art can be fantastic. However, this is certainly not the case here and I wonder why this piece has been accepted when it should have been excepted. :-)

@Noupette I totally agree with you! Didn't like the font either but the worst is certainly the checked background. I assume Wicc tried do something similar to "A Little Motivation" by Spargett.

Clearly, this is just dull wallpaper. No hard feelings but 5 to 10 minutes a child can make exactly like that without a sweat. Wanna bet?

You know, I hate it when people fuss about the negative comments of others - seeing as how this is the "Comments" section. That being said, I suppose there is a difference between negative comments and constructive criticism. titanium_gld's comments would fit into the former category; dtmoody's the latter; and brizkits...somewhere in the middle.

I was watching How I Met Your Mother when I came on to IFL just now. Great picture, great show! It's not a "generic American sitcom". The whole style of the picture is Barney. It's just in your face.

Noupette, I found the word you were looking for: Syntax. Proper word selection. But in this case, it's a matter of spelling since many people have trouble with "accept" and "except" (I used to when I was in like the 5th, or 6th grade, so I fully understand that it's easy to confuse them when other things in life are far more important). Anyway, I still want to see this quote corrected. The proper and HEALTHIER attitude is "When I get sad, I stop being sad and become awesome instead." (but I wish it were "happy" instead of "awesome", as if you needed to know). I don't know if "become" is accurate to the quote, but it sounds like proper English to me. The accepted submitted artwork implies that the speaker is saying "When I get sad, I choose to be awesome instead because I'm always awesome." Whatever happened to humble people? I'm sorry for my comment, but I can't keep this in.

Kudos to you for getting your art posted. However, I'm not a fan of this type of art. The quote is annoying and the text needs kerning.

Terrible typography - it reads A WES O MENESS to me - and I'm not a fan of the lazily blurred background either. To sum up, I'd rather have a blank desktop.

You deserve negative points because you're totally unpolite hype. A thing is comment what you think 'bout the picture, other thing is you be unpolite while commenting people's works. If you didn't like it, ok, it's your right, but stop being rude to persons. I think it's just ENVY because you haven't any skill to draw at PAINT man...

Wicc, thanks for the upload. This goes perfect with my darkroom computer theme. http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/5999/picture1vs3.png Don't mind the negative comments. Those people take themselves way too seriously. Snobs.

This is a good wallpaper, nice to see some variation to the norm on this site. It's a site for wallpapers, not just photography. There isn't actually much I see here other than photography, which isn't bad at all, but you know...sometimes you want something different...
