A rainbow has 7 colors, not 6. The 7 colors of the rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

The both of you have a wonderful vocabulary and your writing skills are awe-inspiring. Scoper...it's "Clint" not "client" and it's "you're" or "you are" not UR. If "you're" going to talk trash, at least get the name right. I was not rude and I did not use harsh language like the both of you did. I just expressed my opinion about InterfaceLIFT, that a lot of members share. I did not say anything negative about the creativity of this piece and I would never criticize art publicly. My opinion is that the content of this site has changed and I will continue to express it. Peace!

I think this is a good picture. Will it end up on my desktop, no. for a couple reasons. not really my taste, although it may be someones so I think it should be up on this site. Secondly, it should be spelt colour, not color. That would simply drive me crazy.

That said I agree with Clint, this particualr genre of wallpaper doesn't do much for me. Though I am still a sucker for sunsets, especially if there's a twist on the ocmmon theme.

Well Clint, I agree with you. who ever disappove Clint's comments can put it politely. He is expressing his opinion,and not the FACT so you can't judge him on that. There are two sides for all things, Its not necessary that something Clint likes also liked by other or Viceversa.

Perhaps IFL has simply lost its taste. They once consistently accepted a huge range of photos and art of exceptional quality and variety. Browse back to '06 and '07 and you'll find the IFL I used to love. Today it does seem to be HDR sunsets and corny "what the heck is this" collages. There is obviously skill in this piece, but the composition is just bleck. Bring back inventive photography! Interesting subjects and new approaches. P.S. Sage and yzfer, you seem to be having an argument over British vs. American spelling.

I think Clint was just expressing his frustration. Negative criticism is just as valid as positive. People reflexively object to negative criticism for two major reasons: one, to empathetically protect the feelings of the artist; and, two, because it contradicts his or her own positive view. Negative criticism is hard to take, but that is the price to be paid by the artist.

Here we go again. Although I only visit this site for pictures, not the brilliant commentary. So it wouldn't be so bad if our commenting privileges were once again revoked.

Hello Sage. Actually the word 'spelt' IS the correct past and past participle of 'spell'. It is mainly used in English English (that is, in England and the rest of the UK). In the US you have transformed it to 'spelled'. It's the same with dreamt and dreamed and many other examples. So, if you are going to try to be a smart ass, at least get the research done first!

I think that Clint is entitled to his opinion. He was not offensive or rude like some people on this site. As for using words properly, for writers, like me, it's important. The written word is a beautiful art form, just as much as photography, and seeing it 'bastardised' makes me cringe as much as if someone had drawn a moustache on the Mona Lisa. And yes, you do spell moustache like that.

I forgot to say that I think this is piece of work is not up to the standard one would expect to see on IFL.

I rather have the newspaper...can you pls make one without the rainbow?

I agree with Clint. However for everyone, there are more discreet and tactful ways to put words so that they are not misrepresented. As I stated before, I think this belongs on the deviantART site. Also, why complain so much? Life is short, enjoy what you can. If the current picture is to your dislike, just go else where.

On a more positive note... It's getting close to the Holidays and I would really like to see more Seasonal images.

Don't worry about it ALEN, people will complain about anything, even stuff we offer for free. The wallpaper looks high quality to me, and that's the only criteria for this site so well done.

While I understand the reason behind comments being shut down last time, it was more of a band-aid fix to a permanent problem. I believe the negative comments stem from two sources: 1) More and more people visiting this website and 2) An overall valid concern about quality which it appears has still not been addressed. I understand that tastes are different, but some wallpapers *have* been atrocious and voted as such by the community at large.

Personally, I probably save about 40% of what I find on the main page and love this website.

Regarding this particular submission, I neither like not dislike it. It's "ok" in my opinion. I wouldn't say it's bad quality, although it's not the best either.

What I am particularly disappointed about is how comments are flagged as negative by the community if constructive criticism is expressed. That's one reason I rarely offer feedback on submissions.

My two cents...

Even though I understand where the artist was going in this piece, I believe it would have been a whole lot better with just the newspapers.
Maybe, if people leave nice comments, we can convince him to submit another one with just the newspapers behind the colors.

It's a really nice blend, and I can't find a single thing about this I would change. And I'm VERY picky when it comes to my wallpapers.

I think it's cool, but it would look prettier if you lowerd the opacity and added the rainbow on to the newspaper, like it were a splash of color...

I had offered a comment above, but it did not post correctly. It was an entreaty to keep things civil and respect negative criticism as well as positive. No one likes negative criticism but that is one of the prices to paid by the artist. Moreover, if criticism is constructive, there is something to be learned therefrom. I think out of empathy we wince when the artist gets a good "going over." Remember also that the same people who may decry a given submission by an artist will lavish praise on another by that selfsame artist. We submit and read reviews because we want to know what both our peers and laypeople think of our work and what we think of theirs. Onward and upward!

ALEN, kindly make one in greyscale - just the newspaper collage. Would be nice if the news stories have some recent affairs on internet, computers, us electionsm science, technology etc related news articles. I'll be waiting eagerly if you promise to do one of that sort.

I agree with ChrisGin. These photos are FREE so maybe a little less complaining and little more constructive critiquing would be better. You want to help the artist improve their work not just ruin their self esteem. This particular illustration just shows that InterfaceLIFT is experimenting and widening out in the forms of artwork it accepts.
