Great colors! It's my desktop for the day :)
Only thing that bothers me is two little specs in the sky. They really annoyed me so I photoshopped them out. Hope you don't mind!

Never mind the standards are pretty high lately on this site maybe next time you will produce something special.but in my opinion this submission is low weight

Never mind those that fret over every single sunset/sundown submission, nicklyon. As long as it's a good picture in it iself, then I don't mind what the subject is. And this photograph is simply lovely. I love the colors of the sky and the puddles on the road. The glimpse of an oil rig is neat.

Definitely have to disagree with s1ipp3ry, because while this photo includes a sunset it is markedly unique and certainly not "just another sunset" picture. Great stuff nicklyon.

Lovely, lovely, lovely as Len would say on Dancing with the Stars. Profusest apologies but my only quibble is the large puddle is a bit bright and too close to the bottom of the frame. I find it little bit distracting. I really like the way the center rail of the fence hugs the horizon line. It makes a nice trip past the oil platform down to the far shore.

Amazing colors. Is it HDR or long exposure photo? Very nice.

Guys, s1ipp3ry didn't even use the word "sun"! When I opened this shot, that whole rise/set dispute didn't even cross my mind. :-) Personally, I love the colors and simplicity here, and the beach twilight is captured really nicely, but I can see where someone might lambaste the photo for not being particularly unique. C'est la vie.

Brizkit, thank you. My apologies to s1ipp3ry as he/she did not even mention the sunset element whatsoever. Nevertheless, I still disagree strongly with his/her comment. He's/she's entitled to it, but I disagree.

I like the picture, the only thing that I could critique is the two awkward dots in the middle. They don't really add anything to the picture, but they sure are a distraction...other than that, this is a fantastic shot. I have to agree with brizkit for once, the sunset/rise issue didn't even cross my mind when I saw this picture. It is original and just a fantastic shot. Great job.

all I can say is wow! Thanks for posting. I am really fascinated to see this photo! It is indeed a masterpiece. Also, I want to share with you additional information about background for web or windows. Excellent photo! What makes it even more interesting to me is that I work on the 4th floor above Jack's surfboard shop in downtown HB!

Would have been DREAM! picture one of the BEST of them all if it wasn't for the rail. what a WASTE thanks for your try though. If anyone would be able to edit this picture to artificially removing the rail it would be a good picture. nicklyon...perhaps you can go along the shore and find a place where there is no rail and try it again and submit another picture? that would be great thanks

I've been there a million times, I don't ever remember it looking so good.
Great shot!
I guess us Southern Californians are a bit spoiled when it comes to sunsets.
