As for this wallpaper, I'm speechless. My new wallpaper. It's a nice escape from the winter outside my window. :D

Now and again a really good wallpaper comes along one that depicts beauty and a sense of harmony between the landscape and the lens of the camera ... there is nothing I can fault with this image it gets 10/10 in my opinion.

Very nice wallpaper men. I love nature wallpapers and you made a good one out of this. On question: Why does it seem that on a lot of wallpapers the water looks so fake? Is it photoshop or didn't it just work out for a lot of wallpapers?

To Haldir: To answer your question, your probably referring to the use of a very slow shutter speed which gives the water a smooth, almost computer graphic look. In addition, Joel Antunes used additional tools (as mentioned in the description) to further perfect the photo giving it an almost "computer graphic" looking perfection. Excellent work by the way Joel, very peaceful looking.

Guys, look at the edge of the water just left of the darkest tree and tell me what that is. I could imagine that it is a root sticking up because I believe I see some green leaves there but then again, maybe it's a leprechaun with a fishing pole under his arm. Cheers

The water appears that way because of high tannin levels in France's rivers. It looks startlingly like a photo with slow shutter speed, but it is in fact a natural occurrence.

hello jut some more info about the shot the water achievement was from waking up at 4 am rushing down to the location at a early time and enable me to use a slow shutter speed, shutter speed 6.sec at F22 to archive the water effects, with a ND .6 (soft) to help highlights, thanks

This is so beautifully captured that the shot has become so much more than a still photo. I can actually almost hear the soothing sound of the water and the call of a bird in the trees. C'est fantastique, Joel! I keep using Expos頪ust to clear my desktop and have another look.

Noupette as you said bird i actually saw a very vibrant bird there was blue and i saw it wile i was trying to jump the "mini water falls" yes i had quite a lot of trouble but the bird was very very pretty shame couldn't see it in much detail as it was very fast flying Regards Joel

I'm not a fan of low shutter speeds I have to say. I think this would have looked ten times better with 1/2000

I'm not a photographer, just a fan of wonderful natural photographs but unfortunately this and many others on this site are not natural looking photographs.

This one could have been absolutely stunning but once again the water has been tampered with to make it look like something out of a cheap video game or one of these awful 'dreamy' birthday cards.

I defy anyone to go anywhere in the world and see water behave in this way so please guys, stop messing with mother nature and let's see these beautiful sights as she intended.
