This is an amazing shot. The bird is a green cheek conure. I own one. For a small bird they have a huge personality, and can be mischievous. For those without experience, be thankful you only have the "still" version ;)

I do not believe it is a green cheek conure. This bird was quite large. Next time I visit the Bronx Zoo I will make sure that I write down the name of the bird. I appreciate all of the comments. It is really nice to hear good things about my first IFL posting.

Absolutely GORGEOUS! I am extremely particular about my wallpaper choices, and I knew the second I saw this photo it was the one I wanted. Everyone at the office loves it too! Thanks for your further research on the type of bird. It was interesting to see other pictures of the Nicobar Pigeon and none compare to yours! Bravo on your photography skills!
