Golden Reflections of Light

March 14th, 2009

I didn't really know what i was doing when i took this but i ended up with a really great shot of the reflected sunlight off the sandstone formations at the Wave of Coyote Butes in Arizona. I used a Canon a540.

Note the collection of sand at the foot of the crevasse (if indeed it is the foot). That small touch, whether intentional or not, transforms the image from a pure geometric into a wonderful study of nature's beauty. This one goes from the eye, to the mind, and from there straight to the soul.

Stubulman, you have been drinking far too much chamomile tea. :)

Hi Trout. Too much chamomile? Won't you join me in a cup? What, you don't think we'd both fit? (Old joke) Yes, at times I wax a little too poetic, but I hope everyone takes it in good spirit. I love the English language and writing is a great tonic. It's a form of expression just as photography is. If I get out of hand, just give me a good verbal rap on the knuckles! More tea anyone?

lol@trout and stubulman! But, I agree. This one is a real beauty. When I first opened it up, I sat there for a while, and then I actually opened my mouth and said "...whoa, what do you mean that you didn't know what you were doing?" I'm definitely adding this to Wallpaper Master's rotation!!

I also think the juxtaposition of the texture of the sand at the bottom against the stone adds something to this beautiful shot. And I hate camomile tea (but I have just smoked a huge joint). Just kidding. :-)
