Sandilands Sunset 2.0

May 26th, 2009

The Sandilands Provincial Forest is a huge forest that is all around where I live. I have only barely explored it and plan to continue to find breathtakingly scenic spots. This is taken while standing on the road next to my car. See my profile as there are a couple other wallpapers here I've taken in Sandilands.

wow... This is a truly amazing shot. It's not photography, it's art.

I agree, awesome shot. However I also believe photography is an art.

This is a stunning photo!I love the reflection of the sun on the water, and it's funny to see how the clouds adapt to the curve of the trees on the background!

It is art indeed; looks like the place from Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers. If there is anyone who can make pictures out of the most nature places, it is TheReal7. Art; you should be awarded for this. ;-)

EastTN that's what I meant. When it comes to this level, photography is an art.

Absolutely stunning, Scott! Although I think St. Labre Sunset 2.0 2 is even better - hopefully something to look forward to on IFL :)

I honestly thought from the thumbnail, "oh, wow, interfacelift has picked yet another nature shot, whoopee!" But then I downloaded a widescreen version of this image and...woah, everything is so clear! I'm more impressed by the quality of the image than I am the subject.

Thank you all very much. This is a 3 shot HDR shot with a Canon 40D with a 10-22mm lens and a Hoya 4 stop ND filter. Merged in Photomatix Pro, adjusted in Adobe Camera Raw and final touches in Photoshop.

Fantastic shot!

I'm curious TheReal7, as someone from my part of the world (Manitoba) have you noticed the cloud formations this spring? I've seen skies this year like nothing I can remember before. Some really spectacular panoramas...
