It's a beautiful picture but I couldn't help noticing that, while everything around it is green and thriving, the old tree is dead. It spooked me out.

Fantastic image, reminds me of the Whomping Willow from Harry Potter. Could be an alternate landscape to that of which is portrayed in the films, it could be next to the Black Lake too. ;) Thanks for posting it!

Ooo, I voted for this earlier today too! It's also one of the couple that I actually remember voting for!
This is just yet another one of those submissions that leaves me wondering what to say. I mean, this does a good enough job speaking for itself, so all I will say is that I'm really glad to have this in my wallpaper collection!

This is a beautiful shot, I'm not sure if the tree is dead as WhiteDog suggests, perhaps deciduous depending on when the shot was taken?

This truly is a great shot! Any chance of making a 3840 X 1200 version? Its hard to find great wallpapers that fit my desktop!
