you're probably thinking of a photo submitted a while ago of DNA rendered digitally or whatever it was. It looked similar to this, although it was actually created from imaging DNA instead of just tiles rendered in a program.

There is a Tiles screen saver in Fedora that I have to assume was inspiration for this wallpaper.

I haven't seen the Fedora. I was thinking of trying to to just plain white tiles with an somewhat wavy finish, and then decided I wanted blue ones. The blue colors turned out nice so I submitted it. :)

I like blue a lot...come to think of it the blue motion stripes I kind of like better than my own tiles :)

I really like this picture. I think it would be awesome if you could release it in a pack, with greens and reds and oranges, so you could use different ones with different (warm or cool) colors depending on your mood. Great work, and thanks for the submission. It's currently occupying the login screen on my Mac.

But as for a good place to upload them: IFL, of course! There is no other place on the internet where you can upload pics. hehe :D

Im quite familiar with Blender and it's capable of much better than this. Nice wallpaper but surely it would have been easier in Photoshop...
