The HSBC Celebration of Light is an annual pyro-musical fireworks competition that takes place over Vancouver's English Bay. This was the Canada Night 2009 competition. Approximately 1.4 million people attend the event over four days! =)

Oh man, I just saw this in the loupe last night and after voting for it thought, "I really hope this gets printed" And here it is. Talk about service! Awesome shot Mr. Erb. It's going right up.

I thought the same as mredpopo when I saw this piece..This is a stunning pic..I'm speechless in front of it, and I'm happy of this submission because on IFL I think there aren't fireworks wallpapers!

As someone who use to walk down everytime these fireworks were on let me just say I LOVE this wallpaper. I have since moved to Ottawa and am unable to see them in person.. this picture went up on my background and will stay for quite some time! Nice work!

Awesome to see another Vancouverite on IFL! Where were you shooting form, I was on kits beach which was absolutely jam packed, but the view was quite a bit different. Also, what camera were you using?

I love that the eye after being drawn to the fireworks then finds the light speckled shoreline. The true scale of the fireworks is thus magnificently revealed. Great mise-en-scene.

StylinRed: I do have quite a few photos of the Canada Night show, but didn't have my tripod with me for the South Africa show, though I did get some cool shots of the blazing sunset and lightening, missed the UK Night show cause of work, and didn't get many shots of the China Night show cause it was just too crazy that night, lol. I only got 1 of Canada, and a couple of sky/lightning from South Africa night online though.
I have a couple at cannabian.deviantart.com and will probably eventually get some more up, just been busy.
