Not a fan of the weird lighting on the trees on the left or the telephone polls to the right...however I love the reflection of the bridge on the water and the foreground water.

The appearance of depth and fullness of the picture is very interesting. Despite the absence of light in some places, you can see fine details. The secret is, of course, on the bridge. Very nice, I liked it.

Hmmm. Your bridge picture was very good, but this is a yawn fest.
Why HDR ? It does zero for the image. HDR has its limited uses, but sunsets and reflections are not on that list.
Maybe I'm just getting bored senseless by sunsets. Is there nothing else that can be used as a wallpaper ?

a sunset without a sun. i love it. the colors are gorgeous. it works on all levels. i find no faults.

many HDR shots on this site look like crap because their authors went out of their way to show you it's HDR. the result is a tackiness galore, unpleasant, unnatural images that look like a kid was playing with a burn tool in photoshop.

i understand some of you may like it, that's why siegfried & roy make so much money. but that's not what HDR is for. the best HDR is one that you don't know it's there.

clyde,im honestly not to crazy about sunsets either due to the fact that theres so many of them.
and the hdr in this photo was pretty light,i used it mostly to try and bring out everything from the shadows

Nice one. The water looks great. Maybe a little clone work on the left side to remove the blue thing in the woods but it looks fine as is. Thanks for the shot and not overprocessing the HDR.

I like this. However, I think the orange cast on the bridge is too hot and does not complement the rest of the image. Additionally, the bridge looks a little spindly and fragile. Perhaps a color substitution would help. I'm going to experiment with Photoshop to see what obtains.

I must read the rules again but I can't remember seeing the part about not being allowed to criticise a photo. I clearly stated that I like the other photo by this photographer.
I don't even know why I feel I need to defend myself against someone who hasn't even passed his/her judgement on the image. All you have done is have a go at me for not being a ass kisser.

Civility requires subtlety and restraint. It is prized not because it is strenuously demanded but rather because it is offered cordially by the respondent.

Anyway I really like this photo. The HDR works well and I'm appreciating the crispness but smoothness of the photo. In the bottom right hand corner, that pink outline on the rock is distracting me now that I've noticed it though.

There is a distinction between "Mother, that dress you're wearing sucks" and "Mother, I don't think that dress you're wearing flatters you."

By the way, I came by my facility with English through hard work. The Mac has no catchy phrase generator just as no camera has a magic composition and subject matter button. Photograhy too requires hard work and practice.

It seems that those who have nothing of value to offer are often threatened or angered by those who do.

Also if you have read my posts, you would have noticed that I have criticized as well as complimented artists, but I have never belittled or denigrated them.

Some of the comments presented here are not solely by critics, but by professionals. Criticism or critique may come from teachers, mentors and fellow professionals. To deny that their observations have no value is short-sighted. When I compose something I often solicit the advice of my fellows.

Passing muster amongst you peers also carries a great deal of gratification. Even the unenlightened or unschooled may have words of wisdom to impart. As had been said, "Out of the mouths of babes oft' times come gems."

This message board has value on several different levels. On the main it is well worth it.

Hey, i don't care what the critics, or professionals say, ur wallpaper is fantastic. Excellent bridge shot at the background, and who cares if there are so many wallpapers w/ sunsets, yours looks gr8.

If i was a critic, I would have to say the water looks a bit shallow and the top of the sky is too blue, otherwise brilliant place to shoot those kind of photos.

Nice HDR... a very vintage look... almost like awakening in a different era... the glow from the bridge in a bluish haze makes it really look like an image from an early Jules Verne sci-fi novel... Good job!
