I love the colors, but it is just a little too blurry for me though. Keep up the good work though!

4 min. exposure?

I agree with dohlfhaul, i like the colors you've done but realized its kinda blurry in 1080p. If it was touched up a bit, I think it would look superb. But so far, it looks good and hope to see more of ur work.

I don't usually comment, but here goes. The photo may be a bit blurry, but the color combination in this photo is absolutely breathtaking.

I also liked the combination. Even liking, I believe it would be better if the picture remains a little more natural. The idea of highlighting colors between sea and sky is great, but was a little planned in the water. However, I liked the photo. Salute.

Nice picture, but on my website we got some much better ones of Culebra and the rest of PR. You should contact me and maybe we can show some of your pics there as well. Paradise-PuertoRico.com. Playa Zoni is my secret spot and also ranked #1 of all PR beaches. Take a look. Chris

303storm... maybe you should submit yours to the loupe for voting and we'll see whether or not they are better, instead of your shameless plugging of your site here.

Yes.

mark.. we are talking about our island here so if you dont know about PR stop talking. just another brainless gringo. its the biggest website about pr, i dont have the need to advertise it. that beach is as i already said part of the website. i dont publish our pics on strange websites - for that we have own wallpapers on the site. and my personal opinion about this page here is anyways that there are too many crappy nature pics. i dont even understand how some pictures can make it here... no this one but anyways

Okay...where to begin?
First of all, the motive is extremely dull and overused. There are at least four dozens of similar motives here on IFL. Always the same sunset with long exposure at some beach.

Second: The picture is not properly framed. Although it might seem that the horizon declines to the right due to the narrowing mountains, it is still uneven. The photographer also framed the picture too low and unfortunately, didn't focus on the fairly beautiful sky.

Third: Imho the photographer should have exposed the picture much shorter. Although some people might like the satin effect of the water, a shorter exposure can add much more dynamic to the water. (If properly executed & processed)

Conclusion: The colors are nice, we've got a sunset at the beach and the photographer managed to switch his camera to long exposure. The outcome: this picture. My final verdict: 4 out of 10 IFL points

Not bad. The colours are great but the exposure is way too long. It is obviously a windy, stormy morning as the (blurred)trees and clouds show but the water looks way too silky smooth for this blustery day.
What lens/iso/aperture sttings did you use ?

Not sure I like this one...

It's a very plain picture and the sky colorisation is just a bit too peculiar for me.

I think it would have been better if some time had been taken to wait for a more interesting or dynamic sky-scape and if the tint had been something closer to natural colours. I don't think I've ever seen clouds quite this shade of purple before!

303storm, worried about competition? If you want to make a complaint about the way of posting on this site, complain to the owner/moderator. This page is idealized to comment on the picture posted and what their expectations so that the image can get better. What about your site, there is a trojan in it... No more.

@303storm, I love IFL because it is, in my opinion, one of the, if not the best site for some of the best wallpaper I have ever seen.

I usually don't comment, but blatant rudeness irritates me. You registered specifically to make a comment; and of course you promoted another website; your own. How uncouth.

"Just another brainless gringo." Wow, is that like: just another rude Puerto Rican? Or would that be an inappropriate generalization?

By the way...

@ EastTN: Thanks for submitting. I too, find some detail to be lacking, but I nevertheless enjoy this image. The freshness of the new day really comes through with this capture. And it's nice to see the work of some of the commentators.

Unfortunatly I agree with most of the comments on here about this pic. I really can't believe this one made it on here but I'm happy to finally have something on IFL. I mostly do portrait and event photography which make horrible wallpapers. In my defense I was pretty hammered(drunk) when I took this pic. Up all night drinking and this was the last thing I seen before passing out. My camera was still on the tripod setup for the pic. Took a few shots, sat down and to look at the scenery, next thing I know my wife is laughing at me telling me to wake up. Thank god she found me or I might be minus one camera. Good times. This pic brings back good memories and that is why I submitted.

I will submit some more to the loupe soon and I hope some make it on here but my first entry being a little sub par may prevent that. O well. Check out my "Blue Ridge Mountains" shot in the loupe. I believe it is better. Thanks for the comments, I'll keep at it and hopefully get better with your help.

@303: You have a nice website with some great pics and I really enjoyed my time in PR. I may have a few pics you can use on your site but I am by no means a great nature photographer.

@ trout: thanks

303storm - been to PR. Beaches are NOTHING compared to Brazil's north coast. I live on the Oregon coast and can tell you even here they have better beaches albeit not as warm. I go to Brazil every winter so I'll think about you while down there this year and laugh at you calling me a brainless gringo. I may send you el cuco for that one.

You just know a website is going downhill when the contributors begin giving excuses as to why their submission is sub-par.

@ Eoin: I was giving a little background on the pic and why I submitted. I know the pic isn't the best but I still like it and it looks like quite a few other people do too. If you don't like it go elsewhere. We won't miss ya.

@Mark: I agree Brazil's Northcoats is amazing. But Flamenco Beach,Culebra PR might be one of the most beautiful spots on earth. I'm not too keen on the brainless gringo remark either, I must say that I experieced that attitude alot whil in PR. NOt sure why but gringos are not that popular in PR.

Because they behave like assholes here and think they are something better, thats why. Im not Puerto Rican either, I moved here from Europe but I get repesct because I give respect.

People here are warm and friendly, its not like that in the states and of course nobody like that. Understandable or not? Anyways, the Brasilian Beaches ae nothing compared to Puerto Rican beaches, unless you spend your time at the tourist beaches like Mark did it FOR SURE. Either you have been on Isla Verde, where I live right at the beach, or Condado. Of course those beaches are boring but if you have seen Flamenco or Crash Boat, you would not say the same.

Well.....303 you are being a bit rude now. I can assure I did not act like an a-hole in PR. I'm a pretty laid back dude. Also, there are plenty of people in the states that will go out of their way to help you out. The southeast (where I live) is known for its hospitality. Maybe you should visit a few more of the states before you write us all off as brainless gringos. This type of thinking will get you nowhere and is borderline racist.

I never told that to everybody. I said just another because he thought I have the need for advertisement. I just wanted to show YOU the website since you have been on my fav beach. Its fact that many tourists here really act rude and of course people will not be happy about that just like in every country. Thank god there are always individual people that know how to behave and to respect others. Dont get it wrong please. In what month you have been at Zoni and how did u got there? Charlies Jeeps?

Unfortunately, slightly out of focus, but the composition and mood are superb.

@Tony, interesting comments about it being plain and the sky being a strange colour, especially considering one of your submissions is similar to this but not even as good.
