Black Road
By Marcus W.
October 5th, 2009
Shot close to a highway during the darker hours. Some post processing was made to put focus on the colors of the road. Shot with a Sony A200.

I like the composition, subdued colors, and real sense of speed you've captured, but when blown up to the size of a wallpaper the amount of blur in this kinda' strains my eyes. Anyhow, it looks pretty cool when scaled-down.

Nice concept. I think it would have been better if the stationary elements of the picture hadn't been blurred. Is the blur post-processed or could a version of this with only the traffic being blurred be posted somewhere? As it stands, I too can't really look it for very long without screwing up my eyes.

My eyes are bad enough but this one was just a bit too blurry for me. I agree that the stationary objects should have been in focus and this would have been a lot more pleasing for my taste.

Thanks for a amazing night time photo. I woulda preferred motion blur on the lights and kept the road simple, its just too hard to c but I think whatever idea drew in your head to blur this, I have no complaints at all.

I like it! I have a few like this of my own work, but I do like the blur effect to it, different!
I have this on my dual screen at work now :)

Thanks for all the responses! Yes, as some thought the blur is a conscious decision on my part, it is post-processed. I liked the focus it gave on the lights at the end of the road and the sense of speed. I can in retrospect see how it may cause eyestrain, something I will definitely think about next time, so thanks for the criticism!
