Fahnestock Foliage
Taken just after sunrise in Fahnestock State Park, New York. The Sun had begun to rise above the horizon and the lake was beginning to steam.
Taken with my Tachihara 4x5 field camera on Velvia 50 film. Schneider Symmar-S 150mm f/5.6 lens on a Copal 0 shutter.

Haak, there are many reasons to use a large format camera. One being the film is so large (in this case 4"x5") and the optics so sharp that the detail is absolutely incredible. Another reason would be the movements (tilt/shift/rise/fall) the camera can make allowing for precise control of composition, focus, and depth of field. Not too mention they are just plain fun to use..
Thanks ever so much for submitting. :)
i love the color that is dappled throughout all the green.
and i love that you took this with an old-skool camera.
very nicely done.
Perhaps it could have done with the water taking up a little more of the frame though: as it stands you can see that there's some reflections below in the water but it not really enough to compliment what's above.
I'd have zoomed in to the trees in the centre of the shot that surround the little red bush, framed by the rock behind and made sure the water had a greater proportion of the frame.
But then that's just me! I still like it!
