In addition, it is very simple. I think it is only a choice of market, to enhance discussions on irrelevant topics ... At least for me, as it realizes many comments and a few definitions.

I like it more than I did at first blush. The lighting is subtle and the drop shadow gives a nice 3D effect. Sometimes simplicity is just the ticket.

My favorite motivational slogan still remains: "Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves."

After taking 5 min to read all the comments, I find the wallpaper message to be especially relevant to this 'discussion'.

This piece ought to be titled "Irony", as one would expect a wallpaper with the message "do your work" would actually involve some, you know...work.

I would give it an 'A' for effort, but that's the thing--it doesn't look like this took much effort. Instead, I'll give it a 'C' for the effort required to type the phrase and submit the image, but a 'D-' for appeal. Sorry, just my opinion.

Wooww... Some people are harsh. It may not be THE GREATEST WALLPAPER EVER, but guys... it's just desktop wallpaper. There are plenty of others to choose from on this site and more to come.

I would imagine the intake of images to this website are controlled in one way or another as I know some are voted in. At what rate who knows. This wallpaper would therefore have made the site by either getting enough votes or by perhaps averaging number of votes to number of submitted achieving minimal required attention for the cycle.

Either way those that went out of their way to bash this picture show an abundance of time and an overabundance of care towards a list that is made based on many peoples opinions despite how potent yours may be. If you don't like what has been submitted get off your butt and go take/make something better and provide instead of sitting, being critical and leeching.

The stream of new wallpapers will move on but will your tendency to invest too much venom into temporary trivial things as well?

I'm sorry to see that a lot of you posted unnecessary comments here and almost nobody commented previous submission (Tranquility...) that, in my opinion, deserves more attention than stupid provocations.

On the subject of voting, don't forget that as well as the Loupe, you can still vote for older submissions via the Artist's Profile page. Some hidden treasures in there I think.

Since when is subtlety and simplicity a sin? This is not my cup of tea for a wallpaper, but there's nothing wrong with either the design or the message. So it's not just another sunset. Personally I think variety is the spice of life (though I wouldn't put that on a wallpaper either).

What tickles me is why the "artist" needs to try and ramp up some sort of cred by stating they created the masterpiece using an "Apple Mac Pro, Apple Cinema Display, Adobe Fireworks".
Seriously, an Asus Eee PC with MS Paint could have done it for about £3000 less :) !

You should try this quote from Albert Einstien, "A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be." I think it really speaks for itself and is much more influencing than this wallpaper.

In my opinion there is only one function for any wallpaper on a todays modern desktop, it should let you dive into a unique feel and working environment, which should reflect your personal aims and thoughts somehow.

So a basic rule for wallpaperdesigners should be that simplicity can create moods and that feel im talking about, whereas an overcrowded mess of an artists "photoshop-3dsmax-skill-show-off" can only lead to distraction or headaches at work.
Besides it's the nature of background-images to be in the background, while your other stuff (Stuff you are working on!) should get your full attention.

Now talking about this certain wallpaper i would say its design is clear, nice fonts and a slight 3d shadow effect. It's honestly not that complicated, but having "Do your work" and fancy stuff going on around would be kinda ironic, right?

Assuming that the choice for a wallpaper is something personal, who would like to have a wallpaper saying what he or she should do or not? stop... wrong thinking!!

Isn't it kinda clear that "Do your work" doesn't actually say what you should do? Everybody who downloaded this or voted for that wallpaper had a different thought about what his or her personal work is actually all about. This wallpaper doesn't put you in front of your pc ( or mac :) ) to force you do certain stuff, i rather understand this as a hint for you to follow your aims and thoughts.
