Seeing Desertas Islands

February 1st, 2010

Another photo taken at sunrise. This time you can see Desertas Islands. Desertas mean "deserted", no one lives there besides a few guards. It is an animal sanctuary.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon 24-70, GND Hitech 0.9 HE.

Wow, this one pops. I love the scene and colors. I haven't changed my desktop for weeks, but I might have to now. Nice stuff.

Those are some very nice blues you captured there, 'Chief, and the detail of the rocks makes for a great picture.

I like how it's completely blue all over. It certainly feels interesting to say the least. The rocks are even blue. Photos like these always fascinate me because they seem so unreal. I wish I could go out and see something like this.

Thank you for the wallpaper.

MasterChief, this is great. I have a different vision for me, the result is very close to reality, perhaps the proximity of the stones, or the transparency of water in the foreground. [...] I hope you do not mind the intrusion, but also the filter you used the flash? Anyway, the place is beautiful. Thank you very much.

Really nice MC. Love the colors and the composition! Too bad about the blackened peaks though. This is the main reason I haven't purchased GND filters yet.

very nice one! as razorsharp said, the blues you captured here are perfect, and the detail of the rocks is incredible, great photo.

btw, TheReal7, i was looking at your loupe submissions and was wondering if you have a website you keep these on. i really like these photos, especially the one titled 'Winter storm rollin' in' any way one could get a 1920x1200 version of this? or others?

Aww man, I agree with brizkit -- the first thing I thought was "woah!" -- there is a ridiculous amount of detail in this shot!

And like the others I love the cool blues, very nice overall! :)

Thanks!

TheReal7 you are right about the GND filters, i have to buy the soft edge, otherwise the peaks of the rocks/mountains will be always dark with the hard edge filter.
